How can legalising betting lead to decline in fixing ? The guys who bet legally or illegally would like to make money.They would try to influence the system the same way as they are doing now.
Betting SHOULD NOT be legalised in any case. A powerful person investing money on betting can go to any extent and can use any means to manipulate the results of the concerned match. Legal betting doesn't make any sense and betting should not be allowed. It should be severely punished
I wish people who support legalized gambling go through the pain of having gamblers in their families. They will then know the reality around gambling. The Govt should ban gambling totally, including on horse racing.

Looks like u come from the Mallya stable. And then u will have almost legalised fixing of matches. Do u want to turn a sport into a fixed tamasha like the WWF ?

prinal kapadia doesn't mean to support that kind of betting, fixing match is a other kind of betting which is considered as ILLEGAL. he meant to support a betting thru a legal way like casino. and I'm also agree with prinal.
Legalise betting ?? Legalisation of betting is no panacea. People who think legalising will stop 'fixing' are under a delusion. It's like putting the cart before the horse, nothing will change. We will start betting on cricket, but matches will continue being fixed so long as there are cronjes, jadejas, azhars, khatmulls....er sorry....akmals, maliks and asifs. Betting on horses is legal in India yet races are fixed quite often. This does not come out in the open because racing as a sport is not as popular as , say, football or cricket.
