The game of cricket itself presents many opportunities to bookies to make money. Cricket is a peculiar team game in which individuals compete against each other at any given point of time. Unlike soccer, hockey, rugby etc. a player performing under par cannot be substituted. This enables a player to manipulate the events in the game. The coach or manager of the team does not have any control over the players. We Indians do not have the right to criticize any other country or countries in this regard, because in almost all the fixing scandals, some where an Indian connection has been traced. After all a guy who was thrown out from captaincy of a cricket team is now a member of the Indian Parliament. That man was stamped ineligible to play a game and yet he is holding one of the highest posts in the largest democracy in the world.. The Great Indian Thamasha..!! The real culprits are the so-called cricket fans who spend their money, time and energy to watch the game which they call 'The Gentleman's Game'.
