Rubbish Claims.
by raghav dass on Sep 02, 2010 07:50 PM  | Hide replies

Old man Doull is obviously looking for some limelight for himself here. The overall economy rate in Pakistan's second innings (2.98) compared to the first innings over (3.32) belies his claims. And this was over 107 overs compared to some fifty odd overs in the first innings. The only aberration was Wasim's 12 no balls over some 38 overs - even then his economy rate was as low as 2.76. With such stats how can Doull claim after almost 37 years that 'free runs' were given away! Profound indeed!

17 years....not 37 :-) . I disagree that run rate is the way to argue against Doull's point. The kiwis were probably defensive and didnt attack the ball (I wouldnt either if I had my back against the wall). However, it is more about whether Pakistan tried to attack the batsmen. Bowling short does give the batsman much more time to read the ball and not get into trouble. One has to agree it is fishy ...Pakistan really dominated NZ in that series.

Akram was also involved in their infamous world cup loss against Aus in England (what a coincident it was in England).

This happens with India quite some times. Indian bowlers get the top order wickets quite OK to up to 6 or 7 wickets; then strggle with some opposition bit players turning heroes. Either it is sub continental trait to ease off the pedal OR does the fix thing run with all?
How many times Sachin has got out to ridiculous bowlers(the great Abdul Razaq eg) and newbies (supposed to be quite genrous to them)? Anything fishy?

all commentators hv been fixers.
akram was a fixer. even sunny n kapil were.
n they used to defend the game of fixing by saying that "ckt is a game of uncertainty. nothing can b said till the final ball is bowled or the victory is achieved." this was only to hide their fixing done with bookies.

Too late!!

Why is that players come up now and say that they were contacted by bookmakers in 1994, 2000, and so. Why did they not reveal the same at the same instant when they were approached. I guess those who come up with these kind of comments were also invovled in mat fixing then.

That puts us Indians to shame too. But these are exceptions in India and not a rule as in Pakistan

Just think. Relax and think.

Srilanka cricket board is bankrupted. It is living with the money borrowed from BCCI.
So after crossing 194, was there any signal that few of the borrowed money will be waived off ?
May be yes.

I now doubt that Randiv's no ball to Sehwag can also be an incident of spot fixing whether he will get his century or not.

Pakistani trio of suicide bombers in cricket
by Omanchandy on Sep 02, 2010 07:20 PM

Amir,Asif and Bhatt are suicide bombers in cricket, they have destroyed Paki team but what one can expect from a nation whose president is Mr 10% and all ruling lobby there past and present are involved in massive corruption.
Paki people have realised that Paki under Vadairs and rich rule is worst of any rule in past and present in the world, they have a hope and looks towards India to free them from their corrupt and mischievous rule of army and pseudo politicians.
India should not invade paki but try to have some arrangement with UNO and impose UN army there after disarming their army.
Kasmiris are creating insomnia for Indians, my advice is give kashmir to Pakis for one year after a UN accord, I am sure after two months the same Kashmiris will beg India to join Indian federation with out any pre conditions and without article 370 and in future for our children no worries of separatist kashmir

YES! BUT IT WAS NOT MATCH FIXING BUT POLITICAL PRESSURE TO LOSE!
by Kabeer on Sep 02, 2010 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

Yes!

I was watching that match at my friends home who was Indian High Commissioner in Canberra, in Australia.

Having won both the previous tests, I was amused the way Pakistan was losing its way; my friend the Indian High Commissioner, chuckled and said- so you blokes are not committing the blunder that we did against the big boys! Good to see you guys learning from our blunders!

He was referring to Indias overwhelming victories agains the big brother USA in hockey in one of the olympics post independence. The margin was so huge in favour of India that its Ambassador instead of applauding his team rapped them on their knuckles for meting out such an overwhelming defeat to the US. He said that the team should keep in mind the good relations needed with the US.

Having won comprehensively the first two tests, Pakistan cant afford to give a whitewash to NZ. NZ might be a small country but still is is a White nation and Pakistan needed the WHite worlds support in those fledgling days, so they would have been told to be a little generous to its hosts!

But definitely it is not match fixing; in those days the money involved is too small and there was no match fixing in those days; match fixing has become a phenomenon later after Indian biggie Jagmohan Dalmiya made cricket in India a multi billion dollar phenomenon!
