Re: Why Rediff?

Hi, Thanx for ur 'Indian' concern.

I am sorry to myself that I am replying to such a nonsense post.

"""""We want the world cup no selfish innings by Sachin .... I am sure even he has taken money to play bad in really big matches...

Example:
2003 world cup out for 4""""

Plz go through the statistics....The leading run scorer of the tournament was none other than Sachin with 673 runs and that was 208 runs more than the 2nd spot holder.

Why don't you think that our bowlers took money to concede more than 350 runs in that final. Bcoz U r sure that Australians batsmen can hit that score. But their bowlers also have capability to restrict the opponent.

Australians won bcoz they played as a team and india lost bcoz only sachin played for the country though couldn't handle the pressure of chasing 359 runs.

and IPL final.........again the top scorer. 160 runs chasing.............he needed a good start after the fall of the early wickets. I don't think U wanted mumbai to win more than sachin.

""""He was so intelligent that he didnt bother to play for India and left his captaincy to extend his career.

If he was really great should have taken the challenge and won the game for us..."

If he retains captaincy.....he is selfish, if he leaves he is clever konkani....

I doubt if u have brains at right place.

If he retains captaincy, he is selfish, if he leaves he is clever konkani..........Is this an argument?

I am sorry, i have been so harsh to a brainless idiot.

I am sure u have brain.but equally sure that it has stopped working. Take a break, everything will be fine.

Get well soon......

indian, 'only' sachin played for the country and that is why we lost? you ARE mad. in reality it is only because of others that we reached the final. others played well so india reached the final. others failed in the final. so we lost (well, bad days can happen to everybody). as simple as that. sachin does not enter in the picture. his being in the team or not does not make much difference.

Yes, bro sachin being in the team does not matter??????????

Consider this

Out of the Six league matches, sachin was the top scorer for India and for the remaining one the 2nd highest scorer........

Scored 97 in a super six match, and 83 in the semifinal match...........These things also does not matter...

then what do u expect him to do......

Get u the world cup all alone or hit a century in every match....

Come on......Grow up..
Cricket is not an individual game...

exactly my point indian, cricket is not an individual game. it is a team game. so any particular individual being or not being in the team does not make much of a difference (please understand that I am not saying 'any difference' i am saying 'much difference'). it is completely wrong to disregard others performances and give all their credit to some particular individual.

that is why i don't agree and i dont't like it when somebody says sachin wins the games for india 'single-handedly' and 'without any contribution from other 10 players'. so please dont say that 'only' sachin played for the country and that is why we lost. also while comparing and cosidering performances please understand that sachin bats at no. 1-2 position and others dont. so sachin has that advantage thats why most times he is top scorer. understand that when sachin used to bat lower down the order he didn't usually top score because others used to come before him and had a better chance of making a big score. when you compare sachin performances (at opening position) with others (especially newcomers) please consider this point. we all know what sachin performance was in his first 65-70 matches when he did not open. you know how his score of that time will look when compared to his own score at opening position. so when you see newcomers scores after their first 20-30-50 matches please compare those scores not with sachin's current record but his record at a similar junctur

indian, so when you see newcomers scores after their first 20-30-50 matches please compare those scores not with sachin's current record (which includes all those 100s and 50s and over 17000 runs) but his record at a similar juncture. i.e after 20-30-50 matches. We don’t expect the world cup all alone from sachin nor do we expect him to hit a century in every match. Similarly please understand that if we do win WC or when we do win any match/tournament final it is not due to him alone. Please also give credit to others for their performances their fielding, batting or bowling.

many like to say that if we win finals it is because of sachin and if we dont then they say that at least we reached the finals only because of sachin. but if you remember we won the last asia cup without sachin (we reached the finals without him and also won it without him) in recent series in lanka though we did not win the final without him we did reach the final without him.

you are going on and one about sachin performances in world cups in general and WC 2003 in particular. about his being top scorer or 2nd highest scorer. about his 97 in super six match and 83 in semifinal match and what not.

for your benefit i will like to give you his wc performances and also view it in perspective.

Sachin in WC
Matches innings not outs total runs highest average 100s 50s
Total - 36 35 4 1796 152 57.93 4 13

Sachin in WC
Matches innings not outs total runs highest average 100s 50s
Total - 36 35 4 1796 152 57.93 4 13
Out of the above 36 matches
25 24 1 1008 137 43.82 1 8
Is record Against sri lanka, England, Australia, pak, west indies, new Zealand, and south Africa
Out of the above 36 matches
11 11 3 788 152 98.5 3 5
Is record against Zimbabwe, Kenya, netherland, Bangladesh, Namibia, bermuda

so indian, if you see properly, many people like you would like to believe that sachin scored at an average touching 60 runs (that is nearly 15 runs more than his normal average) in all the WCs. but if you look closer you will notice that against good opposition he has scored only just about his usual average. and against second strings countries most of whom do not even have test status he has scored at an average touching nearly 100!

That is the true story my friend.

There is more to life than hindu muslim christian etc... first everybody should think about feeding there family, going for an own house, building there kids career, taking care of there parents, working professionally in there career and keeping there future secure... in india if all the people just concentrate in these areas , i dont find time for any other extra curricular activity...
