Funny how some people who call indian captain as Mr excuse have no problem with this one. I guess one look at white skins confirms the reasoning for them. Quite a pseudo world. I thought australia never complains. They look to win regardless of situations. wow what a climb down.

Clarke scored 111 from 139 balls
But. kohli scored 118 from 121 balls...

dew will be damaging in WC
by Ruchika on Oct 21, 2010 12:24 PM

The dew in winters set is a major problem in Asian day-night fixtures favouring the team chasing in the evening/night. Toss will become extremely vital then. Remember Austraila vs Sri Lanka final in Lahore 1996

clarke inning was real reason for defeat
by ANIL SINGH on Oct 21, 2010 12:21 PM  | Hide replies

many will disagree but 110 in 132 balls (22 overs) is not order of the day. if you are playing big inning you must catch up later which clarke never did. this is what shastri's of 80's used to do 100 in 150 odd balls. if sachin would have played such inning people might have blasted him on this forum.

110 of 132 balls is a very respectable score.
you are basically spoilt by sehwag / tendy's Strike Rate after they get to 100.

Looking at it in perspective, you are right. But still, considering his Test and recent form. He did fight it out as captain.
Also 289 was a challenging total, they could not defend.

Tell this first to Dhoni first.. Every time he loses he blames the umpires or the dew or the toss or the sledging.. First listen to all his previous comments after loosing and then comment..

Match
by makdi man on Oct 21, 2010 12:07 PM

1. The pitch was at its flatest during our death overs.
2. And about the dew Clarke is talking about. It was late dew in last few overs and the ball was keeping low and skiding as well. Same ball kept low and got Dhoni first up and Tiwary survived another as it was not directed on the stumps.

The track was that way so you could make a century, else you would have failed miserably, here too.

but you should also admit luck played an important role, yuvi was plum lb very early in the innings, but benefit of doubt was given to him..otherwise result may have been different...
