Wasim Akram has a soft corner for India and likes India a lot. It is genuine and without bias and what more he is very popular with all Indian stars from Sachin to Rahul, Kumble, Kapil Dev, etc.
Also, his affection grew when his wife died in Indian hospital despite the best efforts of Indian doctors. He himself admitted that

akram is right 5 best players missing, lets see how india does no doubt lot of bench strenghth to be tested.
Akram said wrong,why they rested Sachin.He is great.He is doing Daily one record.He should play.Then,why the selectors are taking only Jadeja,Rohit Sharma and why the Dhoni is supporting & why they are not taking to the Dangerous Yusuf Pathan.He is best then Jadeja & where is Irfan Pathan.Really Politics.Indian selectors & Dhoni are avoiding Muslims..

Don't know about Irfan, but Yusuf Pathan is a typical Afridi-type player who deserves to be in only the T20 squad.

If they are avoiding Muslims, why is one Zaheer Khan and one Munaf Patel are selected? Was not Zaheer man of the match in one of the tests ag Aussies?
Dont try to create a ruckus here and bring in religion or region factors here. Selection is done purely on merit and nothing else. Once in a way it will be biased, else it is based on current form and perormances. In India, all religions are equal and all are given chances, it is only that u must prove it. Look at our film industry, who are our superstars...they are Muslims.

Boss..irfan is not even playing full domestic season..he is busy making his big buglalow in baroda so ignore him..Yusuf is only good at domestic level but for sure he should be picked for WC-2011 as he can be a asset on home soil..Now you aregument that Dhoni and BCCI are avoiding muslims from Indian team is completely baseless and senseless..
