INDIA is not winning any match because of MS DHONI's talent or brillancy. He is big ZERO..Fit for nothing. Sack him out and make VIRENDER SEHWAG as new Captain.
I doubt if sachin could have scored tons of runs if he was a captain for 20 yrs!. scoring runs while being a captain is really a herculean task(becoz he needs to bring the best out of other playerz and should read opponenst weakness also) while scoring runs as being a just batsman

Raj you are watching these matches consider. Consider this test match situation match between Aus vs X team - Aus 1st inng - 400 all out Team X 1st inng - 425 all out Aus 2nd inng Ponting comes to bat at Aus 3/1 what Ponting must be thinking ok let me get a lead of 200 odd and we have a chance then Aus 225 all out Raj don't we all think Aus can still win in this situation with their bowling attack. If India would have been in similar situation we would have prayed India would score atleast 300 plus and then too not sure of winning. So when Sachin comes to bat in similar situation he must be thinking of 300-325 at target to be set. So who would be in more pressure? Plus the burden of so many fans. So Ponting's 50 odd turns match winning while Sachin's 100 goes waste. So this is sad thing for Sachin, yet he continues to play with same enthusiasm for the team, something like Andy Flower did for Zimbabwe. Raj think you are that person else you will never feel others problems.

Also Sachin is never considered match winner in finals by fans but his average is 55 in finals of all tournaments he played while Pontings average is just 38.
Though Sachin has played more world cups than Ponting, India has played less world cup matches as opposed to Australia due to early ousters. So Tendulkar has played 36 odd wc matches at avg. of 58 and Ponting has played 39 matches at average of 48. Sachin got most MOMs too. And there is no question of opposition quality or playing pitch condions as it is a world cup. So i feel sad for Sachin that being so great player our team could not help him get even 1 world cup glory as opposed to Australia's 3.

as can be seen against good test teams he scores at an average of around 43 runs.
and he scored at an average of 98.5 runs taking advantage of the weaker teams most of whom do not even have a test status.
so as can be seen his average of almost 58 runs in world cups is mostly inflated average scored because of runs made against weaker teams like kenya, bermuda, netherlands, namibia, bangladesh etc.

Do you mean Ponting does not score against even minnows? Dear put Ponting's record as well. Also Ponting never has to face his own teams bowling lineup so he facing bowling weak teams like Indian bowling line up. Against that line up also his record is poor. Don't give me record of Ponting in NZ or SA or Eng better than Sachin because the conditions are similar to Australia his home conditions. On sub continent so called flat pitches also he can not score big away from home and home like conditions.

it is lucky for sachin that he does not have to face world class indian bowling. otherwise he would have joined the ranks of ponting, lara etc. just like them sachin would have been flattened to the ground. if he had to face bowlers like kumble, harbhajan, murali kartik, zaheer, srinath, ishant, sreesanth, ozha, mishra, irfan pathan etc. he would not have known what hit him.
as it is he finds it difficult to face non regular bowlers like north, clarke, kallis, symmonds etc. no wonder he has been out a record no. of times against debutants.
how can you compare sachin to ponting who is so much superior batsman to him? ponting scores even on aus pitches against aus bowlers. if you consider sachin and ponting domestic records you will find sachin cant even face domestic bowlers well. while ponting can do as well against aus bowlers on aus pitches.
your asking not to consider ponting record against NZ, SA or Eng while comparing sachin record is pathetic. ponting has faced best bowling attacks of the world with a good record. while sachin when he has to face SA or pak quicks on bowler friendly tracks runs back to pavilion as soon as he can.
ponting can score well against 1.) good bowlers on 2.)dangerous pitches under 3.) crunch situations even when he is 4.) captain. ponting faces all these 4 challenges suimultaneously and comes out winner.
sachin on the other hand struggles to fulfill even 1 out of these 4 challenges.

Your whole speculation is of if and buts. Sachin does not fulfil your expectations since you expect something impossible from him or choose to close your eyes is not his problem. Now do not say that India play finals against Bermuda, Canada, UAE, etc.
Sachin has a away record in Australia against Australia that is almost equal to Ponting's at home. Ponting's record is pathetic or even worse in India.
In tests, at least, these two are comparable. In ODI, Sachin is better than Ponting by some margin.

Sunil It is normal that every batsman score heavily against weaker side. But not all batsman score heavily against good side like sachin. If you want to compare all not only sachin with his record. Only then you will realize reality.

Sorry BM, your statement only proves that cricket is a team game not an individual's game and a great player like Sachin is unlucky not to have got support from others. This is really sad.
