This is best Indian side ever. If we miss, only Kumble and Kapil dev in it. But at the same time we don't have that good selectors and administers.
Reasons, 1) Our great batting line up never gets Fast and bouncy pitch practice in India. BCCI must build some bouncy pitch in India, then we will do much better abroad.
2)Bias selection policy. Karthik and Rohit Sharma get infinite no. of chances and Pujara, Rahane and Badrinath get not even half of it.
3)Completely no international level of coaching at under 14 of under 19 teams.
4)Physical fitness and fielding are at last priority. It must be made first priority for professional Cricketers from childhood.
5)Great Infrastructure, as we are richest in Cricket sport.
I never enjoyed Dravid's batting, but there was a kind of guarantee when he was on crease, and I could go and come back hoping he would still be there. On the 5th day of the second Ind-Aus test, I did not want Dravid to be sent at number 3..something that probably happened to me for the first time..He may not have lost his touch..but probably, I dont have the same confidence for him, which I always had for 12 years or so.
Dravids intention is just extend his carries as long as possible and since he is A Grade contacted player getting crores of rupees yearly. What if he scores or not, for him crores matter.
What dravid can do... certainly the youngsters can do much better. Its high time he steps down from playing tests and allowed pujara, mukund, kohli type players to also get some chance.

Rocky Laxman is in best forms in his life...he won 2 matches frequently for India and now days a match winner for team India... So he will play another 2 to 3 yrs for India..this is not the rite time to say goodbye to international cricket...
Dravid is great player , he will come back and again prove why he is in the top 10 batsmen of modern times. Our Fab4 have proved critics and current generation who has imported ideas (but fail to admit it), again i am waiting to see how you will prove your critics wrong
His eyes are still behind and beyond the ball instead of being dot on - focussing on it. in comparison look at watson and north shot actions - you will always find their eyes waiting andfixed dot on the ball.
This is a reflex and age issue and cannot be too overcome with technique
Further Pontings bat lift is too high even if he plans to play late -actually he is not planning to play late since he is commited to the front- foot and his toe points towards wider mid off - so he can't be playing too square with such a back lift
So to me as a lay man his body is not is shape and his reflexes are trickle slower
I have 172 photographs of Mr Ponting and I can tell the difference of the shot he is planned to play and finally played.
I am sincrely sorry if this comment may sound snobbish but am sure will help Mr 'Punter' rethink or rewire his brain to marginally expedite his shots and their positions
