Hope this too won't be counted as a match-winning performance by Sachin haters.

Essex batting coach Graham Gooch says he is confident Ravi Bopara will sign a new contract with the club.

The 25-year-old all-rounder has been mulling over the offer of a two-year deal since early September.

Gooch added: "I've every confidence he will remain an Essex player. He's now got to go on to another phase in his career.

"He's had England recognition but he now needs to nail down a regular place. He has the talent and he's now got to show the consistency."

seems lyk you are very close to rohit, yuvi and kohli as you know everything about their GFs and commercials. Newer make a comment about someone's personal life even if what you say is true. That's none of your business mister. BTW, there is someone called a Warnie whose personal lyf is as screwed up as one can think, but he still ended up as a legend.

You r Wrong...Even Before SRT played his first innings, experts knew this kid is going to be something special.
E.g.Sunny has watched him playing when SRT was 11 or 12 and He commented on SRT THEN...Not only Sunny many, many knew it. The only person was least bothered about it was SRT..He just kept on playing...Well I wish Poojara Best Luck..but its too early to use word legend for anyone.

Abhijit Nair
Points to note
by Abhijit Nair on Oct 13, 2010 07:18 PM

M.Taylor and Steve Waugh inherited a team whose nucleus was built by Allan Border but Border does not get the respect or adulation he deserves,Waugh and taylor were good in their own right.
2.Ponting got a team which was a champion team first (from waugh) after greats retired he has had great challenges, but his captaincy lacks common sense at times ,
3.dhoni has in his team Sachin,Dravid,Laxman who were part of earlier teams and India winning Tests because of them.when these 3 retire Dhoni will be the same boat as ponting is now.

Pujara has a place vacant in the test team
by Rajan S on Oct 13, 2010 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

Its not that pujara doesn't have a batting spot left in tests. He has a much better technique than raina or yuvraj. That will only be proved when we tour abroad, outside sub continent. But its the selectors to analyse these things early and bring in the necessary changes. We cannot have a test batting line up with yuvraj, raina and dhoni at the same time.
For me, in tests, we should have players like pujara and bhadrinath up in the ranks to replace the legends like laxman and dravid, when they retire from test cricket

abs correct rajan. pujara is a player to rely on in the crisis situatios. n he did show glimpses of his batting while scoring in 4th inning n 5th days' pitch n under pressure situation coming down at no 3, denying ausis any chance of another breakthrough. pujara is much better player than others in technique, temperament n attitude to play test matches, compared to others like raina, kohli, rohit or even yuv.

Where are those who said that Tendulkar never plays for the country. He has played and won many many matches for the country. An saved Indian pride by beating up all the top world class arrogant bowlers. All the while being Humble and a getelman.

And where are those prime I-d_i-o-t_s who said that he should retire. Hey you Mo-r_o-n-s now who are hiding with you tail between you legs, you don't understand Cricket or greatness.

by SUNjeev Bhardwaj on Oct 13, 2010 07:03 PM  | Hide replies

SO guys! Series finished between these two good teams
i'm watching cricket for last 20-21 yrs...and can
easily describe this series as best so far between these
two teams...5 days of first test match and the first 4days
of this test match were really good...match was swinging both sides...

So what u all think..is india is improving or aussies are loosing their shine...??

valid question and appreciate your comments...

the fact is that both are correct, india is shining and aussies are loosing their shine... The reason is, India still have seniors like Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Bhaji, Sehwag, Zaheer in the team. But aussies failed to get replacement for Gilly, Hayden, McGrath, Shane Warne etc.
