An Opportunity lost..

Our Selectors should have chosen both Abhinav Mukund (instead of Murali Vijay) and Unadkat (instead of Sreesanth). It was a wonderful opportunity to blood both youngsters and see how they fare against one of the toughest cricket teams, which would have augured well for the future. Abhinav is a left handed, solid and attacking batsman. This could have provided the ideal left-right opening combination as well. Thank God, atleast they have give pujara an opportunity in this match

I agree partly. Abhinav is in tremendous form and is much compact opener than Murli Vijay who is very poor in technique. Since there is already a left handed seamer in Zaheer it was a good move to play a right handed Sreeshanth for variation.Mithus should have been chosen for this Test instead of Jaidev

Rediff gets it wrong
by binoj peter on Oct 09, 2010 09:26 AM

Again rediff gets it wrong. There are three changes in Indian team. Vijay in place of Gambhir, Pujara in place of Laxman and Sreesanth in place of Ishant.
