I find that those who support Sachin do so without want or reason. Despite the bare facts being right before their eyes. Almost akin to blind faith. No doubt, Sachin is a great batsman - but the big question is - is he the greatest?

Those who watched the recent test match know that his LBW was plumb - yet blind faith will dictate that he got out to a bad decision. It is a sad testimony to our mentality that we refuse to call a spade a spade.

In this country, every cricket fan believes that he or she is an expert - a reality we have to live with. Truth is, people choose not to look at the flaws.

I recall an incident when Dravid was captain, and declared when Sachin was on 194 during a test. Dravid clearly put the team above a player's record. But the whole country, including the media, lambasted him for making that decision. That does not surprise me. What does is, the way Sachin reacted. He was clearly upset with Dravid for having denied him a double. Does this in Sachin seem honourable? The Sachin Pandits will certainly seem to think so.

Sachin is like any other player. He is human - and is capable of wanting to play for very personal reasons. Equating him to the status of a God is not right. For he is no God.

This reality won't dawn until the veil of deceit is lifted from their eyes. I hope that Sachin's fans wake up to the facts soon.

Lastly, I believe knowledge is relative. Who knows what who knows.

shere ignorance and chemical imbalance in the brain

Those who make negative comments on Sachin have no knowledge of the game, and probably no knowledge of any thing in life. They just feel zealous because they are worth nothing to the world. You are right. They comment negatively for any thing that Sachin does, because they can't see any thing positive. See for example, in the recent Test which we won, though Sachin got out in a criticl moment, we can't ignore his contributions in that match. 98 in the first innings, given LBW out for a ball leaving leg stump. His game helped build up partnerships and India reach close to 400. His 38 in second innings... without which we would have collapsed. He is a team man, and always helps the team. If people think he should win the games all by himself, it shows their ignorance of team sports. It is shere ignorance and chemical imbalance in their brains.

It takes class and panache to be at the top of one's game. It takes temerity and finesse to be revered. In Sachin's case, I think he has it all. However, to be called the greatest, one must possess a key ingredient – consistency. 21 years in international cricket – and he finally wins the Cricketer of the Year Award.

While there will be those who will intensely argue that this is yet another feather in his cap, I have just one thing to ask - why did this not come earlier? The so-called Greatest Batsman in the World took 21 years to become the best player on the planet. If you ask me, it seems more like an apology than an award.

This very same Sachin played under innumerable captains and faced cricketers from around the world. It is this Sachin who has the highest number of centuries and runs to his credit. He may have amassed a lot of runs, but mostly against tame oppositions in helpful conditions. It begs the question - how many of those runs have helped in winning causes for India?

Lest we forget, Cricket is a team sport. Every one of them has put in their blood, sweat and tears into the game. Sachin, no less. But to equate him to the status of a God is to do injustice to every cricketer who has ever played for Team India.

In the twilight of his career, I would not like to tarnish the achievement of this great batsman. However, I would like to say this – there may never be another Sachin, but maybe there doesn&

There may never be another Sachin, but maybe there doesn't need to be.

Long Live Cricket.

WHY THIS BAD SYSTEM IN INDIA

INDIANS HAVE SOME LAZY, JEALOUS AND CORRUPETERS, THEY ALWAYS LOVES TO HATE SACHIN. HERE I HV EXAMPLE, IF INDIA WON, THEY BLAMES SACHIN BCZ HE NOT STAYED UPTO LAST RUN OF VICTORY. IF INDIA LOST, THEN ALSO THEY BLAMES THAT SACHIN IS NOT A MATCH WINNER. IF SACHIN MAKES MATCHES EASILY WIN, THEN ALSO THEY BLAMES, SACHIN PLAYS ONLY WINNING MATCHES. IF SACHIN TAKES REST, THEN ALSO THEY BLAMES SACHIN FOR NOT PLAYING CRICKET. REALLY SOME BAD PEOPLE IN INDIA DONT HV ANY CRICKET KNOWLEDGE BUT THEY LOVE TO COMMENT ON SACHIN. WHATEVER IS THE FATE, THEY LOVE TO COMMENT ON SACHIN.
