VVS Factor
by parthasarathy iyengar on Oct 05, 2010 08:16 PM

VVS has always been a hit against OZ.

No doubt Sachin's 98 is also intrumental in the decision of the game.

Why scratch heads after a win? Whther it is 1 wicket or 10 wickets... makes no difference. Still we are number 1

Poor planning
by anand dev on Oct 03, 2010 10:52 PM

Dhoni seems to be out in this match from the beggining. I dont know why he chose Ishant sharma when the curator itself said the pitch wont have the usual bounce. Sreesanth would have been better because he swings better and would have been a good partner to Zaheer and atleast we could have restricted lesser than 325. Then he dropped 2 crucial catches. Catches win matches. Then I dont think other than sachin and raina. No one played like a test match including Dhoni, laxman, Dravid. Sehwag an exception since none of them could play like him in any aspect of the game and probably he could come down bit on his aggression in the beggining itself so that after he is well set then God only can save the opponent team. Looks like we handed over a draw to the aussies. If they still be ignorant probably will lose the match also!!

once agian the great Sachin misses his century
by MITU PADHI on Oct 03, 2010 09:06 PM  | Hide replies

sachin should not have played the flick shot at all when he was nearing the record milestone . It has been his achilis heel many a time , and just when he was 2 uns short of a well desreved century , the dreadful flick shot came into play . This is his favorite shot when played without an intention , but when he gets concious of a landmark this shot has let down Sachin many a times

..he has scored more centuries than he missed..

we expect sachin to score cents always...not gambirs,VVS and harbahns to do that...respect the man...2 runs short is not too short...hopefully he comes good @ blore

I am glad he got out on 98 rather than 101. At least this time people can't say that he played for records!

Sachin's is getting panic, when he is nearing 100. WHY?
by Rajan S on Oct 03, 2010 08:43 PM  | Hide replies

He has got close to 50 international centuries. But still, why is he is getting panic, while getting close to his centuires. It starts, when he gets in to 80's itself. If it was a man who is going to score his first century, then we could have justified it. But this is unacceptable. It means he is giving too much importance to that hundred, while he should have only looked at it from the team's point of view.

Whts is unacceptable ...?? His 98 are still valuable to bring Ind close to Aus total...Respect tht, talk abt Panic. Are you blind...??Within 4 balls he reached from 85 to 96. You call it Panic..??.Its just mistimes shot, in sports it happens...People like YOU are Giving TOO MUCH importance to his hundred whether he completes it or misses it...The guy himself is just happy for his valuable contribution..much more than any youngesters.....What a wonderful inning...Indians should feel lukcy that SRT is born in India...

I call this comment the biggest joke. To say that he never thinks abt his own hundred is absolutely wrong. We have seen it many many times. If it had happened just once or twice, people can say that we fans may have got it wrong and that those wrong shots could have happened by mistake. But this has been happening for long

In sports there is nothing wrong in pointing fingures. We need to be critical. Am not talking abt this much only. For me the greatest disappointment is that, he always gives more importance to his centuries. If he was approaching his first ever international hundred, we can justify it. But he has already scored close to 50 centuries. So now atleast, he should be ready to put his own interest behind him. Its sure that he was thinking abt his hundred at that point of time, which is what he should avoid. Got to put india's interest first

Indian contingent is coming on
by Rajan S on Oct 03, 2010 08:38 PM  | Hide replies

Indian contingent led by Bhindra , is making their way in to the stadium. All the best to them

I feel pitty for them, because though we have spent Rs 70,000 crore for the games, the infrastructure and the facilities, they get is pathetic.

i totally disagree. Yes, der were major issues with the village, but dat seems to be rectified and the stadiums are simply fantastic. The shooting ranges are some of the best in the world and the cycling track in said to be the second best, only to beijing. Please critisize and also give credit when its due.
