New Batsmen should be inducted
by Abe Oye on Oct 03, 2010 05:38 PM  | Hide replies

Raina should have been taken in the team couple of years back. Now slowly Virah Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Pujara should be brought into the team as the seniors retire... Yuvraj had a lot of potential, but he wasted it.

Pujara and bhadrinath are the most compact and top run getters in our domestic cricket. Bhadrinath has not been given a fair chance in both odi's and tests. One or two matches is not enough for judging a batsman. Even in odi, since dravid's absence, we need a batsman who can guide the innings. Let all other batsmen be aggressive

We should be thankful to Sachin that he contributed. Because normally he plays for himself. If he contributes, fine, if he doesn't, nothing unexpected. Today he did make 98 which is good.

Sachin got because of his over defensive mindset, not because of trying to score faster. We dont want him to have a strike rate of 100 or 80. But he should maintain it in the 60's particularly, when time is a factor, like today. Had he done that, india would have been in a better posititon now
He got out because he gave too much emphasis on his 100, rather than looking to take india in to a winning position

Laxman
by kaushik on Oct 03, 2010 05:21 PM

Laxman not coming out to bat seems fishy to me. He looked quite ok in the field just yesterday. Maybe he was annoyed because of Bhajji's comment that Zaheer called him Usain Bolt ?

good he didn't get a hundred
by Sohail on Oct 03, 2010 05:15 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin was playing a very selfish innings and had slowed the entire momentum gathered by Raina...

His strike rate is even slower than Rahul Dravid...

I think all test matches should be banned in india as they give flat tracks for the SAchin's and dravid's to make million more runs in it...

This test match is going to end in a tame draw...

A waste of 5 days for all us Indian Fans...

Give us some sporting pitches and not the pitches to score 1000 runs every inning...

good, he didn't get 100 and see what happened after getting him out!
5 wickets for some 50 runs!
btw, are you really following the match? Watson and Paine's strike rate is nowhere near Sachin! So they must be selfish too!
