Overall Gambhir's captaincy was quite innovative and bold the way he bowled the spinners so early during the first power plays.His bowling changes were very tactical except that he relaxed when the Kiwis were struggling at 168 for 8.He almost paid the price for that folly because just one more good over for the Kiwis could see the match slip out of his hand. Further,the 40 run margin was misleading; the match was much closer. Although India played well but the kiwis were not far behind. Once Vettori and Mccullum join ,Kiwis look slightly better side than the 2nd string Indians.An exciting series is ahead for sure.Indians will have to build on likes of Kohli,Yuvi etc and aim for 300 plus. Death overs bowling will also have to improve as Nehra and Munaf didn't bowl well in their 2nd spell.One change here will be required. And Yusuf/P can certainly bowl better than what we saw yesterday !Finally, Ashwin will have to improve his fielding, especially the catching as he doesn’t seem to have improved a bit in the fielding from his IPL days when he had floored at least half a dozen catches.

I also liked the way he attacked with Yousf in the slip....but his attitude is something which isnt right....
