Re: CONGRATS TO KUMBLE TEAM...

yeah we hope they do make a diffence to the existing corrupt boards and be a role model as they have been for yrs now congrats too...
Most people here, vehemently criticized when he failed in a couple of innings.. Someone even criticized for asking people to give Dravid time..
He did bounce back with a bang.. A class act, who saved India on one occasion too many.. Sachin Tendulkar could casually throw his wicket away at crunch times (He played a cramped upper cut in the last test match against Australia, in which Laxman and Ishant saved blushes for India) but Dravid always puts a price tag on his wicket and guards against a total collapse. It happened countless times.. But cricketing public conveniently forgets it.. He always played in the shadow of Tendulkar but accepted his fate and has been pretty modest..
Learn to respect your heroes..Yep, don't yet pick up cudgels.. Cheteswar pujara can wait and has a long way to go..
We need him (& laxman) in South Africa to save us from being whitewashed or even to win.. Stroke makers like Tendulkar and Sehwag are not going to save the day for us..
Stop being emotional and learn to respect our hereos

Mike..one suggestion, while requesting others to pay due respect to Dravid, you yourselves forget the basics of respect..isn't it?? Donot criticize players of the calibre of Sachin or Sehwag who have changed the landscape of test and ODI cricket for India..

Shewag - let him bent and touch the bat first while running to reach the crease. These lacy fellows not touching the crease properly to avoid run outs and through their wickets recklessly. You are telling like they have changed landcape of test cricket ..ohh..ooo..Can you tell me ever they played any sensible cricket / responsible cricket.Ishant sharma is 1000 times better than sachin and shewag beacuse he scored that 35 runs against Australia you know that is sensible cricket. In front of that Ishant innings sachin records and shewag hitting everything waste.

Sorry bud, I didn't criticize Sachin.. He is my all time fav.. But when playin' for India, you should play as per the demands of the situation..
A match so easily could have been won when Tendya and laxman were together, was thrown into a needless humdinger.. Tendulkar's credentials cannot be questioned.. But his shot selection at crunch times could be better & responsible.. It is INDIA that matters not the "personal glory" or one upmanship.
and yep, you just can't play any stroke or play away from your body in SA.. That would be real acid test for these heroes..
I do not vouch for any particular individual, but I support India as a team, for I'm an Indian first period.

Why you people are always worrying about sachin and his records? what Mr.Mike said is correct.Frankly speaking Rahul is far better than sachin. You are talking about sachin and shewag thes hard hitters can not be Architect like Dravid,Lara,Kallis,Yusuf Yohana,Ponting many more.

Dravid has been a wall for india many times in the pasttt and has an amazing record of saving matchess... perhaps even more than Sachin tendulkar but that doesnt mean little master or sehwag shoud be critisized.... FYI Sehwag has got a much better average than Dravid and has scored runs on bouncy pitches as welll...

If you are having cuts please remove Rahul and Lakshman for the Tour of Australia,Newzealand and SA.Then you will not talk about sachin/shewag.Real talented should not be undervalued because of statistics. What records tendulkar having? he played from his 18th year, continuously playing 21 years.Obviously he should have this record.Tell him to play in the emergency or crunch situation then we will accept.Ok.

Hate Dravid batting, appears like practising during the game. Gives an impression that he doesnt have an option but has to bat.

Viswanath
Well spotted. Actually none of the playing 11 have an option and they "have" to bat as per the current ICC rules. Unless they are changed in the near future, that is, to allow some other 11 players (different from the originally announced 11 a side) to take the stance when the time comes for our team's batting.. ;-)

Vishwanath, it seems you don't know what is cricket. Just hitting 4s and 6s in flat pitches is not Test Cricket. You should be having minimum technique to Survive quality bowling attacks in all pitches. There should be patience, confidence and concentration (and some luck). Test cricket and one days are not 20/20. Batting wickets changed the style of the game. There should be some bowling wickets too to test the batsmen.
