Of late, there has been a lot of brawl at rediff about Sachin being better than Bradman. I am new to Cricket, but based on various posts by Cricket experts here on rediff, I have deduced the following. In the era when Bradman was playing, run-scoring was too damn easy because of uncovered pitches, and absence of protective gear. Besides, teams really difficult to score against like Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and New Zealand were not there. That is why every batsman in that era averaged 99 plus in Test Matches, and 95 plus in all first class Cricket. Nowadays, with covered wickets and hamlets and all, scoring runs is a real difficult job, and that is why nobody has been able to average more than 58 since Ken Barrington. Bradman in this era could not have managed more than 55 for average. Besides, population of Australia was hardly a few millions in those days, as compared to nearly 1200 Millions of India today. 100 Bradmen cannot carry the expectations of one Sachin. Therefore Sachin is better than Bradman. QED. Corollary: Not just Sachin, any Tom Dick Harry of today, is better than Bradman.

They should have sent at least A team as we had a good chance to win the gold....sloppy work on our part....
India win only if Sachin scores. In the last 2 matches Sachin didnt score so India did not win. Stats show Sachins average in test matches which India win is 80 where as his average in lost matches is 30.

Sachin is not playing for our country. Remember fans his team not Indian Team. It's Team India. I hope Team India is not playing for our country. They are playing for stake to become rich. Also he is playing for Ambanis. He never bothers for our country. The Indian Cricket Team is a waste Bunch. Why this BCCI has not sent this team to Asiad. They dont want to get medals for our country. They want to make themselves rich.

You forgot to add.."On his own terms and the day he decides that he had enough of Cricket". Luckily, for all of us and Indian Cricket Team, that day is quite far off..Till then Sachin will entertain the world with his sheer batting magic.

makdiman, are you sure there was a nick? Commentators on the basis of replays were not sure. They heard a sound but replay did not show the bat doing a thin edge of the ball. Benefit of doubt went in favour of batsman. This is cricket. Dont be disheartened, tomorrow morning SreeShant will bowl Mcallum OUT.
