After marriage the shot selection is generally wrong sir because your focus is not on the right ball ;) In a year or two you will regain your focus back on those white and red balls..just chill dhoni..we all love you..

Even great players have dry spell
by Gurjot Singh on Nov 20, 2010 02:13 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is the most aggressive and entertaining player in the world. Perhaps Sehwag is the only player more aggressive than Dhoni. Dry spell will end in Nagpur. He will have a great game while guiding India to a comprehensive victory against NZ.

Dhoni will be never considered all rounder, good batsman, or even a good wicket keeper. He is average on all three fronts. He maybe be a good thinking captain, but even there he is leauges behind the best in the cricket world. Ponting ( agreed he is not in great form as player or captain) but he brought home the WC for them and that too by balsting the opposition like he was playing against 10 yr old kids. thats domination, West Indies ( in the 80's) had that streak and Aus has/had it too. India will never be a force that will scare other teams, our bowlers are really pathetic and our batsmen.. get out on fast pitchs, playing for more than 20 years Sachin and Dravid are still prone to outside the off stump delivery. How many times have u seen pointing geeting out facing that delivery?

Please tell how many shots do you have to select from...
by Manu Zach on Nov 19, 2010 11:45 PM

The point is that in international cricket, you cannot hide your weaknesses for too long. Good bowlers would eventually expose the chinks in your armour. It is a fact that Dhoni is not a test-class batsman.

Dhoni is the best
by manoj dawra on Nov 19, 2010 09:04 PM

Dhoni has been one of the most consistent performers as a player and captain - other players are playing from more than 10 years but Dhoni has amde a succesfull team -

agree, when he plays looks like he is at dhobhi ghat and trying to wack the cloth on the piece of rock.. thats how he tries to hit the ball. fortunately lady luck smiles on him, but will he bring in the WC? highly doubtful, team india can get lucky only one day at a time, in WC there are way too many matches and all with different teams, u have to change ur game plan quickly and fast.. team india falls down like a house of cards in those sitations

Just relax and play your natural agressive side... don't worry about records... just be yourself. You are a good player and your form will return.

I wonder what records he is looking to chase, most hundreds by a wicket keeper or most ducks by a wicket keeper. Dhoni needs to understand is that other team bowlers are not ranji team caliber, they bowl fast and hard. street cricket is not going to work on them for long.

What the hell?
by ashwin shetty on Nov 19, 2010 07:46 PM  | Hide replies

What does he mean he is performing well in the nets? Is that a justification for him? This is sheer arrogance, he must admit that he is out of form and will look to continue to perform better; He says he is not worried about his form, but we are. He hasn’t performed with the bat for over 8 innings at a stretch now

dude he is middleing the ball well in the nets, and he thinks thats the best test of his form and he does not like to play with tail enders because then he has to play big shots ( i wonder why, what is the stupid logic behind this). someone needs to tell him to stay in nets and play and win net matches and leave the real world matches to other players.
