There's more to life than playing cricket! He was compelled to take such a decision because if nothing else he was a victim of circumstance, and if there was a case of his life being compromised for non-performance he did the right thing by fleeing rather than playing in fear!
Man has done extraordinary things to survive, and sustain, and luckily for Haider he's young, and has a lot of options!
The days are over when proud cricketers like Imran, Miandad, Wasim, etc. used to play. Current bunch consists of mediocre players who wants to make quick bucks by hook or crook. Murky administrators, corrupt officials and unprofessional players - do not augur well for Pakistani cricket.

The earlier PAK players were all great players who not only loved their nation but the game as well. They had the talent and stature which none in the present team has. It is truly a sad sight to see the going ons. Looks like as the nation is under a curse so is its cricket and all other sports team

What else do you expect .When you make a maphia don and a terrorist Dawood a guest in the country . Don't they realise what such goons can do to the lives of common man .They should have eliminated the Basta*D.
to whom he cancomplain if he complain to team management(coach or captain) they may be acting as agents to match fixters..like sulman but.go to senior means who?yusuf or yunis or razzak .what is thier seniarity till now they are not sure of thier place in team.captain one oss the most useless and irresponible player you can ever get .captain thinks that playing 20-30 ball and scoring 40 quick fire runs will not work.like that means any guy you tell your place is gaurantee in team and through your bat that guy may score more than afridi.this team is full of irresponible players..you need guy like imran khan to get back the team in to steady line and deciplened performance..
I think, haider is thinking that he is played a winning match for Pak and now after doing all this non sense he should not be dropped from team. But his absence would not have an impact on the team. Actually he was a looser dont know to play cricket also. i dont know how he selected in team.
Entire episode is suspect. Why noone asked any question when Zulqarin asked for his passport. When tthere is so mucj security around Pakistani players in view of fixing scandals how come no body came to know about his absence from the Hotel? How could he arrange for air tickets so quickly without anyone's assistance ?
