Laxman is one of the all time great batsman for India. He has saved so many matches for India. Though Gavsakar has played some match saving innings in early-mid 70's, he was very selfish when it comes to his batting. He was great batsman but when it comes to playing for the country Laxman comes first in all time list. Not only he is very good and classy batsman, his humliity and personality is something rare amongst many successful people. Inspite of not being appreciated & rewarded like some of his useless collegues he never cribbed about it and his attitude has been refreshing and wonderful

If Rahul Dravid is Wall of India then VVS Laxman is Rock of India. He is a great Batsmen.At least now the Jocker selectors should repent for not selecting him in the World Cup
Its a great effort from a perosn whos emajor strength is bowling. This also indicates that the morale of the team as a whole is getting higher and higher.
VVS Laxman is like Batman of Indian Test cricket team. No one appreciates him, but w/o him Team India would have lost a few test matches
The sentence from the dark Knight aptly suits him amongst the current Indian team "He is not a hero. He is a Silent guardian, a watchful protector. The dark Knight".
The fact that he was not a part of All time Indian Test team initiated by Cricinfo shows how low the experts rate him :(

I fully agree with you. VVS is the only Unsung hero of the indian cricket. India would host last 3 test series with him in the squad, the stats show the truth.

VVS is hero and he sang enough songs. He gets lot of Rs and dont worry about his reputation. He saves India. My q is why india needs VVS every time Why not Gambhir saves india?

Well said. Without his efforts over the last few test matches, India would have lost the No.1 test ranking. He is not only amongst best people to watch as a batsman but so dependable. The thing that needs to be appreciated is the fact that most often than not, he is required to put match changing efforts with less recognized batsmen which means that he can bring out the best from any batsmen that is playing with him on the other side. Considering all these things, I would rate him as amongst the best batsmen India has produced.

It is time to give some rest to Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid and Raina and give chance to Murali Vijai, Virat Kohli and Pujara.
