Curious that a T20 is being played at the same time as a test match.... which ground is your particular match being held on? ;-)

Sachin should get out, if they need to win
by Neha Gulati on Nov 05, 2010 10:48 AM  | Hide replies

Only someone like Raina can score some fast runs and give enough time to bowlers to get 20 wkts.Sachin will take two days to score his record and waste time.Unless Sachin out, game will end in draw

I suggest you immediately join a cricket coaching class.... if we have majority cricket fans of your calibre, we will have more of Mohali like test matches and unfortunately Laxman and Sachin can't bail us out in all of them and our #1 test status will come under the scanner then... :)

That provides for nice all round entertainment though... :)

As with each passing match it is getting clearer to more and more people that sachin does not win matches single-handedly for india without any contribution from other 10 players you seem to have lost your equanimity.

with laxman winning past few tests with his incredible batting display (which by the way he is doing for the last 10 years) and your favourite sachin being shown in clear light how good he is in reality. your favourite team australia rapidly sliding down the rankings and indian team proving match after match why it is true no. 1. your favourite captain ponting being shown his true place by dhoni whom you love to run down.

all these factors combined has made you lose your mental balance. Your posts (spits) are getting nonsensical and worse day by day. (It seems that you are fond of eating paan and then instead of spitting in the spittoon you do so on this forum.) I feel sorry to say that now you have started to sound like LG. …;-)

Great Sachin !
by paul on Nov 05, 2010 10:46 AM  | Hide replies

Scrapping around for a 90 ball 24 on a flat bowling track against a Ranji like inferior bowling attach, a true sign of greatness ! Sachin can only dream of playing a knock like Sehwag's yesterday, just accumulating runs will not suffice for greatness , you need to be a game changer & a team man like Sehwag for that. Sehwag is on his way to becoming India's best Test batsman ever by the sheer nature of his winning capabilities which Sachin sorely lacks.

Why should he aim to copy Sehwag's style of aggressive play?

Why don't you accept Sachin's style of play has changed from being extreme aggressive to accumulator of runs, which has brought more solidity to his batting?

When the situation demands Sachin can revert to his reportoire of breathtaking strokes which he has in abundance. At present the situaton doesn't demand it so why should he take risks?

Agree with your comments. NZ attack is no way better than a Ranji team bowling attack. Sehwag is already India's best batsman in all forms of the game. In fact it may not be wrong to call him world's best batsman. Sehwag is a bigger match-winner than *any* Indian batsman.

When you join a cricket coaching academy, some of these shortcomings of yours might be sorted out in terms of understanding what's going on in a particular game at a particular time... ;-)

But if you prefer our sound defeat in Mohali at the hands of Aussies, you are welcome to go to those performances instead... :)

How is Sehwag helping us win by sitting in the Pavilion? For that matter how did he help us lose the Mohali test against the Aussies? ;-)

Contributing to a teams winning cause & changing the course of a game in a couple of sessions is what marks greatness which people like gilchrist did earlier & Sehwag is doing it now.

Extreme Caution - Name is Sachin Tendulkar
by Satish Pujari on Nov 05, 2010 10:36 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin does not want to miss a ton against a poor bowling attack. So what if he takes 500 balls to score 50th Test Centure and match ends in a draw. The 50th test century is more important.

Partnership
by Patrick Dsouza on Nov 05, 2010 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

As I am writing this message , the current partnership between Sachin and Laxman is 41 runs in 22.4 runs which is a pathetic 1.8 runs per over. These guys have pulled down India's Run Rate dramatically . I dont see the postiveness in these two Batsmen. They dont seem to be aggressive or aiming for a win at all. It's like as if they are practicing in the nets. Their strike rate is in the 20s.

Who has scored the only double hundred in ODIs?

Clue - it is not Sir Vivian Richards (even when ODIs were 60 overs long).... :)

Slow Race
by Patrick Dsouza on Nov 05, 2010 09:58 AM  | Hide replies

Looks like Laxman and Sachin both are in a competiton on who plays slower. Both are literally taking the word "test match" seriously. Their current strike rates are a pathetic 20. I understand that yesterday they were trying to survive without losing a wicket (in last 10 overs they scored only 12 runs) but this morning they have only scored 4 runs in the first 6 overs.
I feel sorry for Sehwag. After such a great start he gave us looks like this match is going to end up in a draw if Indians continue to score just 4 runs in 6 overs. Indian batsmen are selfish . They look for personal gains and records rather than playing for the team. Yesterdays Run-Rate was well over 4.5 when Sehwag was playing. But now it's at 3.4 and looks like Sachin and Laxman are aiming for a run rate of just 2.00 runs per over
