Well done Greg Chappel
by Wonder Fool on Nov 06, 2010 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

Greg being the selector of Australian Cricket team is taking the team in the same direction as what he did to India in 2006-07 as Coach. I remember Sunny Gavaskar saying that if Greg is incharge of the Australian cricket team, we can see even Bangladesh beat Australia quite often. Now thats come true.

Now expect a 0-5 whitewash for Aussies in the Ashes. Well Done Greg 'Chappal'!!!

dont underestimate the aussies. mr.gavaskar always think that he is perfect but recent events clearly shows how he too greedy for money. actually it is kapil dev and people like amarnath who should come forth and develop the game at root level. so they should be given due importance in BCCI activities.

I dont understand how gavaskar can be called greedy if he asks for payment for his services. No one in this world works for free (unless they are into social service sincerely). Gavaskar has asked for payment from IPL which is a commercial arm of BCCI, which by itself is run for profits, and there is no reason for BCCI to expect ex-cricketers to work for free even when cricketers are paid handsomely to play in it.

Kapil Dev and Amarnath are heroes, no doubt, but Kapil also worked with Zee's ICL for payment and Amarnath lost out in getting the coaching assignment many times due to his stubborn reluctance to adjust on payment terms (which he has justified for the same reasons that when administrators and cricketers earn a lot, the high profile job of Indian team coach shud too be paid well, which according to me is 100% correct).

they were taking about ashes 6months ago as if that was only cric

they were taking about ashes 6months ago as if that was only cricket game. yes it is an important series for Aus considering the history but you can't neglect current series. probably they will lose ashes as well because of overreaction and not concentrating the task at the moment. It seems like there is learning lesson for everyone.

Don't worry about what you have to do in 6 months time but think of what is important now.

Peoples attitude changes with time. Few years back, Australia wanted to win a test series in India (so called final frontier). For that tey had started planning their strategy about one year prior to the tour. They had Plan A and plan B, C etc. ready. And they finally won the series. Every one was praising the so called forward planning. Now look at your comment. Let us wait till the Ashes is over and then comment. For Australia or England, Ashes is the ultimate. Prior to that if they loose one or two series then it is immaterial.
I agree partky to your comments. But let Australia give priority to where it thinks right.
