Hello I started reading about cricket from last 3-4 years. I know Gibbs as I have watch one of the SA match but can anyone tell who is Hansie apart from he was once captain of SA team .

Hansie cronje was one of the most respected cricketer during that time and one of the best captain whom many idolised as role model. He was the guy leading the team the post ban period of SA cricket. He was the guy who confessed to have been involved in match-fixing, later he was banned for life from playing cricket and he died in a tragic air accident 2 years later.
there is no doubt that hansie will remain in my hear t for ever for skill as a player & leadership quality. I also regard him above sachin for his honesty after the scandla & team work.... i know there will be many crooks on this board who wud not agree with me but thats true hansie is a great player who changed the course of captainship...

I have seen Hansie's batting. He was really great player and captain. In his period he was the only captain in the cricket world who was close to Steve Waugh in his leadership and cricking skills. Though he cheated but then also I admire him.
