Its good that BCCI is not owned or run by goverenment.

It would have been real mess like CWG game and I bet that we would have been any near to top ranking than now what we are in current stage.

Why do we take interest in cricket and not in our national game hockey.

the reason is simple no performance no love from general public.

Tushar let us put it like this in cricket it is the matter of just 6 countries competing with each other (Ind, Aus, SL, SA, PAk, Eng) other countries are not at all considered as strong. And in this stands no.1. whereas in the Olympic Sports like Hockey, Football, Basketball, Athletics, Volleyball etc., more than 30 countries are competing accept Hockey in other sports there is no predictable winners competions are always tough. To get a real pride in which sport India should shine?????

Sports are for enjoyment. If we love cricket then it is because we enjoy it the most. Come out of this inferiority complex that only if a lot of countries paly then that game is worth enjoying. US plays Baseball and A. Footbal which no other country plays. Does that mean Americans should not be proud of those games?

yes i accept, but they also give importance to other sports like football, basketball etc. whereas in our Country Cricket enjoys too much of hype which it doesnt deserve.

BCCI has problems, but...
by B M on Nov 01, 2010 02:01 PM

Sure, BCCI does have problems, but BCCI's problems did not have anything to do with Howard's loss! It is not a secret that the Asian cricketing countries, in general, do not have faith in Australia, so Howard's rejection by these countries is hardly surprising!

does our cricket team represent a club or nation?

Certainly it is representing a separate entity which is nothing but a society. It is not affiliated with Indian Olympic Association. When our Cricket team is playing a international match it is no way representing our country. People should understand that if India wins or lose it is no way brings pride or shame to our Country. There is long pending case which clearly prevents Indian team to use our Tricolour flag or our official blue shirts.

BCCI is another scam waiting to explode.....
by Globalcrusador on Nov 01, 2010 01:18 PM

BCCI is a can of worms, waiting to be dissect- ed by CBI. It is being run like a mom & pop store, where each top functionary bends the rule a little bit each day to suit his convenience.Shashank Manohar is a prisoner of his own subordinates, with no forthright views of his own.

John Howard...
by Santosh on Nov 01, 2010 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

John Howard is a very humble person... He is one of the best Prime Ministers for Australia... It's pity that the corrupted and stupid BCCI didn't endorse his candidature for the ICC Vice President election... Shame on BCCI and International Cricket... !!!

Why should u drag Murali in discussions to decide on his candidature?Murali was a known chucker who got reprieve by non but our own great Sunny for getting vote of S.Lanka to elect Dalmiya. The greates off spinners of all times including Bedi ,Prasanna & Titmus have questioned his action which was more like shot putting than spinning.

Murli has now created more Offies who bowls with fingers pointing towards batsman than being 15 degree ,which was changed to accommodate his illegitimate action
