It was the second game Raina as a captain.
It was the first time Dilshen and Raina playing each other as captains. It is was the second time Rohit scored a hundred under Raina's captaincy. Also, Dinda's bowling fig are the his best. Rediff should note these points.

by sanjay on May 31, 2010 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

When i watched cricket in 9o's , i was able to remember as many balls and numbers in every match
because the amount of Cricket played during that time is less and always quality cricket
today cricket has become a crap

Very right! An ODI was thrill to watch and even a score of 250 was considered good because of reasonable playing conditions to both batsman and bowler. Now its become a purely a batsman's game, taking out the charm and depriving the users of a EVEN contest between Bat and BALL

Where are your proof readers?

It says "- The 154-run partnership between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is India's best for the third wicket against Zimbabwe. The pair surpassed the previous record stand of 143 between Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Jadeja in Singapore on September 4, 1999."

It should be SRILANKA and not Zimbabwe!

Sanath Jayasuriya had also made 61 in an Aiwa Cup game at Colombo RPS on August 25, 2009.

Again it should be year - 1999

Lost Too..
by NithinMohan TK on May 31, 2010 09:12 AM  | Hide replies

India has lost so many ODI's than any other country too i think. Endorsements make our players so greedy and self-centered in making money. No discipline. Some of our famous cricketers has problem in listening to coach and they can't take command from coach. they believe they run's indian team.. Indian team is not a single man's effort, if one person there or not doesn't matters if all other players play well.

our indian players are not getting enough time to take more endorsements and make money make money that's their motto.. How much is enough actually? any one really hav the passion on playing cricket, not for other than money in indian team. I bet no one will. If BCCI says players have to play for free for a Game, they will simply walk out, saying they need money..

Such a pathetic excuse..

Yup, you are right. India has other bad records added to its name too along with the good names attached to it.They have the highest endorsements, highest match fee for players, highest controversies too. In this moment its really upto us whether to keep on praising the cricketers for these activities or just ignore them and only praise their consistent efforts on and off the field. And speaking of these words the name of Sachin Tendulkar rings my brain as he's just the only consistent cricketer in India to have nil controversies added to his name. And that's possible because he loves the game above all unlike other cricketers who have chosen cricket only as a profession and the just wanna perform mediocre in it. they don't wanna excel.Just like a mediocre student in school or a so so performing employee in an organization. Hats off to the great Tendulkar in showing the cricketers of today how to play the game on and off the field.
