Bharti telecom also Indian company..

Sponsorship and ownership are different mechanisms..

Through sponsorship a brand or a company is marketed..

Through ownership of an IPL club, the investment is made for earninging,it yields in profit or loss..

No bollywood star can own the Indian cricket team, that is only private property of BCCI..

I hope its clear to you...

Shocking
by jithu on May 31, 2010 02:22 PM  | Hide replies

This is really shocking for me. I dont know how sahara will get their money back. Will BCCI gives money for sahara on every match win? Or sahara invested only for advertisements. Because no 1 will travel in their planes by seeing this advertisements.

No body can throw this much money without knowing the profit involved in it. If they throw crores of rupees they also earn that much rupees that's why they invest.

"Sahara won the sponsorship rights of Indian Cricket team at a staggering price of Rs 3.34 crore per match till 31st December 2013"....when will we wake up to the fact that there are more than 40 % of Indians below poverty line and corporates turn a blind eye when it comes to sharing of wealth...atleast we can stop them from splurging it.....The USA of today is because of the Carnegies , the Mellons and hordes of other rich individuals who chose to give it back to the society through long lasting contributions to education and health care....do the essentials first....then take a look at the flimsy things ....otherwise the status of developing country will Remain Forever

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO !!!!
by bishnu singh on May 31, 2010 01:21 PM

more than 3 crores per match received by BCCI, plenty to spend on cheerleaders and useless meetings...But the ex-cricketers they starve in hunger. Few like Siddhu, Kapil Dev, Amarnath earn their lively hood by commentaries and analysis etc etc.....But others especilly domestic n those who had a very short career.....Who thinks bout them ?

Jealous people in our society.
by Ravi Sharma on May 31, 2010 01:13 PM  | Hide replies

It is really painful to see that some people in our society are not disturbed for their failures but feel pain, agony, jealous to watch others success and contribution.A small company with very limited resource in 1978 is a big giant and want to leap ahead and weeping people will continue to weep more, becuz they are not happy for their achievement but feel pain for other's success.Instead of being matured person to avail luxury of watching TV match between BCCI and other world teams, they talk childish. I fail to understand why such people are so much against a strong company, who had achieved success on their own and not harmed our society. Instead they have always come forward to help Kargil Hero's financial help, financial help to Latur people and ambitious deliveries of help to society through its own financial support.

by Praveen on May 31, 2010 01:08 PM  | Hide replies

A T20 match is 3 hours
One day is 10 hours
and Test is 5 days
But why same amount for all formats of game.
Foolishness from sponsors side.

isnt the brand exposure in reverse order.
today test matches are least watched, at the most watched in the news capsule or highlights
and T20 gets maximum exposure as if it was an evening movie show.
i feel its a fair sysytem.

by B M on May 31, 2010 12:56 PM  | Hide replies

Under Sahara's sponorship, India has done poorly at all international tournaments, barring the exception of the 2007 T20 WC. Sahara is panauti for the Indian team.
