Incompetent journalism
by Mike Teflon on May 19, 2010 10:39 PM  | Hide replies

what is so fresh about this news item? The only points discussed in this article are:
1. He was banned for one year for trying to defect to Mumbai Indians
2. He has been handed a show cause notice along with others for a brawl in windies..

To include this as a fresh news item and tryin' to attract readership is pathetic..

REDIFF is a POOR site indeed...

Cricketers may not act chaotic and unruly
by RAKESH YASHROY on May 19, 2010 09:15 PM

Role models are essential for youngsters to follow in every society: once emphasized former President Sh APJ Kalam. If our political leaders are virtual or real role models for our younger generations; then media may start censoring the depiction of behaviour of our politicians in the elected houses. That might help in due course.

Dedicaiton while playing for Country is missing
by vadivel kumar on May 19, 2010 08:53 PM

These Players lack Dedication to the coountry. They have to think they have come above million people who are playing cricket and getting selected to represent the country ahead of them. That is a honour really and money and all come last.
If you feel honoured while playing for country, you will feel bad and sad while you loose the tournament.I remember Dravid literally cried when India crashed out of 2007 WC and Kumble intervened to overcome the situation. That shows the dedication of the player and true countryman.
But this guys simply dont care that they have made billion people sad and they simply went to the pub to enjoy.
Ban them for some time and set an example which will good for Indian Cricket
