i just cant understand why we indians only take seriously the Cricket, rather than our national game is Hockey then why we are just watching only cricket matches.
why we give most honour only this Gentelmens game..any one think about it? if we give the same respect our National Game insted of this. so,the picture will be different like other countries sport.

Lazy Indians have identified themselves with lazy cricket.Indians are not capable of playing vigorous games like football,tennis,etc.properly.
The only part of cricket which requires great physical power is fast bowling. No indian is capable of fast bowling at 150km.,the maximum speed at intl.level.

Fast bowling requires stamina and strong fitness regime. Pitches in india are not suitable for bowlers except spinners. Zaheer and Nehra are the only bowlers who had played from the last decade hence their pace are reducing tremendously due to their age. The BCCI must look out for fresh young talents and provide consultation on fast bowling techniques and temperament. The board must understand that the cricket cannot deliver winning results by the batsman only. The team requires strong batting, bowling and fielding techniques. As far as Ishant sharma is concerned, his mind is scrambled coz of different opinions from the coach and their assistants. He has to play county league in UK to gain confidence and increase consistency level. Also, he should make changes on his line & length and speed by watching videos of Glenn McGrath.

The 1st picture rightly shows yuvraj. Yuvraja knows how to raise his kcid whenever he sees a rising hot girl, but he can hardly raise his bat to whack a shortball to six.

The best player of fast bowling ever was the great Sir Vivian Richards. King Viv was a destroyer of quicks, the faster they used to bowl he used to maul them even more. Without helmet, he took on those Aussies quicks Lillee, Thomson, Pascoe, Hogg, etc with style and spank them to all parts of the field.

From Imran Khan to Wasim Akram, Procter, Hadlee, Kapil, Botham, Snow, Willis, etc he took them and dominated them.

Why so much hue & cry is made out of this world cup loss. Fr. the day of starting playing Cricket, Indians have been seen suffering agt. short pitched stuff. BaRring Sunny,Jimmy,Dravid & Laxman not a single Indian batsman are easy agt. short pitched stuffs. The so called great batsman or the so called greatest of all Sachin has scores 90% of his runs only on placid pitches. Whenever the pitch offers some bounce, Indians are seen scratching their heads. So nothing new about it.
Further in the last world cup Indian couldn't even make it to the 2nd stage. Then there was no hue & cry. So why now when India atleast made it to the 2nd round & also Indians were put down by some dubious umpiring decisions.

So all is not lost for India. When the T/20 W.C is held in Asia India will surely win.

Also I would call on all those critics to make anote that as Asian players are vulnerable agt. pace, same way West indian,Africans,Aussies,Eng,N.,Zimbabwe etc. are vulnerable agt. spin. So in the end its even/stevens.

So no need to make such hue & cry about this small incident.

by amey chodankar on May 18, 2010 03:11 PM  | Hide replies

Why Indian team members are ignoring the fact about facing short pitch ball. even in last World cup we lost the match because of the same factor and here In West Indies we repeated the same Mistake. Why we are not solving this issue. If we wont then next time also other team will take the same advatage & win with us comfortabely Thanks

India and paks won when T20 format was new and nothing much was known about its nature. Now afte 4 years the hard-working whites have found ways and methods to tackle T20 and win them without luck.
The short-pitched ball is just one example.Indians will still play the traditional way, depending on spin and luck.Indians are not interested in research, modifications, adaptability, etc.
Indians are best suited for the slow test cricket. No wonder India have been able to hold on to the world.no.1 position(icc) in tests and in no other format.

The rising ball - Issue
by Sharath Mohan on May 18, 2010 02:50 PM  | Hide replies

There is a lot said about the batsmen that they can handle similar deliveries in Tests due to the luxury of time, but not in T20, and to some extent in ODI's. But it will be worth while thinking about the ability of Indian fast bowlers to dish out the same treatment to opposition batsmen.Y cant we produce fast bowlers who bowl consistently above 145K? May be this inability is affecting our batsmen as well. Or as Gavaskar was suggesting, it will be better for all the batsmen to spend useful time in NCA and hone their skills.

Future of Indian cricket
by great maratha on May 18, 2010 02:41 PM

It was really heartening to see likes of Sehwag,Dhoni,RP Singh ,Raina,Jadeja break the stronghold of certain regions like Mumbai,Delhi,Karnataka in Indian cricket. However the poor technique of the new players has become a matter of concern for future of Indian cricket.
Even teams like Bangladesg are going to trouble our batsmen in future.
With likes of Sachin,Dravid,Laxman on the verge of retirement the future of Indian cricket does not look very bright.
