The message fo the player of the tournament is that IPL helped him reach this form . All our failed players lament that IPL tired them and that's why they lost all their Super 8 games when they could beat afghanistan and south africa with ease in the league. it is all how you utilize an opportunity like IPL that matters . Pieterson used it to hone up his skill and form and our players used it for wine and women . Even in Caribean , when other teams were seriously practising , it is heard that Dhoni and his men ( Men?????) were partying .

here the only difference is Stamina & fitness level of Indian Players & Foreign players.
They give utmost importance to their fitness. If they feel unfit to continue directly they retire from the Cricket, look at Shane Bond. But here in India everybody wants to play cricket whether they are fit or not.

not only stamina and fitness lever but a strong mentality also play the roll in any sport, and we have got to admit that Aussies are damn good when it comes to determination! But our players look helpless on the field most of the times. :(

It's funny when Dhoni said that because of IPL matches and parties, players were tired. First, who the hell said them to go in to the parties! Second, There are other player who also had played in IPL, likes of Malinga, Jaywardhne, Lumb, Piterson, Watson and others but none of them complained about that except Indians and Pakistanis (because of clear reasons they couldn't get their hands on huge money). And if the IPL schedule was hactic they could have taken a few matches rest between that. They could have skipped parties. Have anybody seen Tendulkar partying like these so called young blood are going through? Sachin, Dravid are over 35 but yet they practise harder than these morons. And, all in all when the tiredness should have taken a toil on them right from the start of the tournament but they won those first two matches with ease, then what happened in super 8 stage?

you are right bro,
dhoni does not have control on team and just needed a reason to escape, was not serious about T20WC
sachin, dravid, dada had ups and lows during their captaincy, yet they overcame it and had good spirit of team building. Raina recently thanking senior cricketers is an example of their legacy
Next world cup T20 2012 in srilanka we will be the underdogs. Dont think that we will be the favorites. India will never be the favorites. If that happens, india will lose all the matches. Coz on 2007, we won the world cup as underdogs not favorites. Let's hope that Indian team be underdogs not favorites so that they can win.

whether we remain favourites or not is not the matter...only thing to be seen is that whether the paltu dog of bcci dhoni will be in the team...he wont be a captain till then..
How come foreign players got benifitted from IPL but not Indian players..?? The BCCI should answer this...How about not allowing foreign players in IPL, hencforth? Food for thought.

We Indians Lack Commitement and We are Not professional players! Whatever we do it is not controlled! Foreign Players professionals and they give importance to fitness and have pride for their country! We Indians Devote Our Stupid Junk players And media make them Star(By Getting hefty Amount From So Called players, so that they can get endorsements). Its all media game and they are just earning ! see Dhony Statement after Getting intio Semifinal Of IPL! In IPL if you dont play then the owner of the franchise will kick you out, but Playing for country, you got contract for year, wheather you play/win/loose, you will get pay!Instead of restricting foreign players in IPL, They nust increse, so that out so called Lazy Ass will have to work hard!

Not a good idea. They should not limit the # of foreign players. That will reduce the # of games the Indian players play. Also, the selection committee rushed to annouce a team long before IPL exposed the good from the bad. The third which the ego-centric IPL and BCCI will not do is to ensure that there is a few weeks gap between IPL and any other major tournament
In my opinion, what IPL has done is 1. Train the horn the skills of foreign players. They come here for money as well as getting exposed. They play a limited # of matches and take back lot of info to their board about our players' weekness and strengths. 2. For our Indian players, each player is a captain or a part of different team. Now they are more divided than ever. Gambhir who was planning ways to get Vijay out a few days back had to open with him. He is wondering how he is opening with Vijay when he is more used to opening with Sewag. Dhoni is thinking he could manage Aswin better than managing Harbajan. Harbajan is still mad that Mumbai lost against Dhoni's men. And never forget that these Indian players are scouting for good foreign players for the next IPL
It is just logical that you put more effort in IPL that pays in millions than you would put in a 10 days World Cup.
And do you think BCCI cares about WC? They will pretent to because they will want to do nothing about it.
