Why punishment
by nyayapati rao on May 18, 2010 07:55 AM  | Hide replies

Both Rohit and Haddin had been punished with fine, but not the empires who made actual mistakes in both cases. Is there no punishment to Empires for their mistakes which normally a disadvantage to the team.

Rao:

Empires are human and do make mistakes. There is no fine for even players making mistakes either.

Fines are issued when rules are breached.

Hope that becomes clear to you now..

This is very ironic and you are dead right!!

I imagine if a 20% fine is imposed
on such umpires, they would go up
to the 3rd umpire more often.

The ICC some how chooses to ignore these happenings that could have
overtones of implicating umpires in match fixing.

You are right. A final between India and Australia can never happen... not with the kind of team we have at present, at least.. :)

Rohit Sharma was fined 50 per cent and Brad Haddin has been fined only 10 per cent.

TV:

a) Did Haddin ask the umpire to call for a third umpire?

b) Did Rohit really get docked 50% as per your invention?

But your points really show us "where" is the root cause of all the injustice we keep hearing about.... Like you, many more zealous fans too must be busy inventing away.... ;-)

So you mean to say that his additional cheek of "gesturing Bowden to kindly mind his own business and refer the decision to the third umpire" was worth ONLY 5% additional fine? ...

Hmmmm....

I am not getting into details or breakdown on the percentage. Just gave the correct figure when needed. Cheers.

Rohit Sharma was fined 15% of his match fees and not 10%. Why was Brad Haddin fined only 10%.
