england may or may not be able to check their talent based on one win, but one this is for sure that we cannot spell your name correctly in the coming 20years.
Good that a deserving team won the cup, better that two deserving teams reached the final and even more better that a team which never really showed any hiccups in the entire tournament won the cup.
Congrats. They are the worthy winners. England would have remained as unbeaten side but for the fraud of Duck Worth Lewis thrust upon them. Jinx is broken hope to see more such triumh for English Team Hope England team does well in Football World Cup as well. Good omen for the country. Well done

australia was suppose to lose the game against Pakistan and Bangladesh, just some heroic and determination by lower order batsmen won the match

What Indians did while they got the 2007 world cup, its just luck. It has been accepted by Bedi ( Former Capt ) atleast Aus played to win.
So don't blame who played well, Aus has not lost a single game till final, where Pak came by Run rate.,

So what?? They lost without putting fight in Finals.. Thats true!! Please accept..
After the match, i was wathing BBC London , the london based news channel, they were least bothered by the England victory, rather they were showing the story of Thailand roits, and other story, really feel bad, thier country won first ever international cup and they did not give any importance. its similar like hockey in india.media damn care about that game.

Sara:
Its actually good that they aren't overdoing it like our "breaking news" channels who do nothing to create any sporting culture but succeed in flaming inflamed passions in a way that is least constructive for the sport.
If you wait for their proper "sports news" slot, I am sure there would be a mention of the said win....
In any case, to balance that deficit we have overwhelming support from the true Britishers amongst our own masses who are out in the internet blogosphere to prove that because Australia lost in the finals to England, Team India is a truly great cricket team... ;-)
Its googd for cricket that England have emerged as a team with the potential of winning a world title. It is a bit surprising that the country where the game originated has won a world cup behind teams like Srilanka who are newcomers to international cricket.

It happens.
1979 Final, England lost to invincible West Indies.
In 1987 Final, England were on their way to win World cup and a foolish reverse sweep by Mike Gatting and batting collapse gave Australia a freak world cup victory.
1992 final, England lost to resurgent and determined Pakistan.
Credit goes to the English bowlers who bowled superbly in the tournament, world class batsmen Pietersen, Collingwood and Kiensweter. And an astounding fielding.
