Fazal Curmally
Another flop show by Team India
by Fazal Curmally on May 16, 2010 12:06 PM

Put things in perspective. ou call your team, "team India" and not the Indian cricket team. What is team India? World Conquerors? Are they men or supermen? Don't fall victim to your media hype and see it for what it is.

In all probability, India was outplayed as was my country Pakistan's team. The lesson we learned at our cost was hooking short pitched balls and a mishit meant a catch. You can't lose your opening batsmen that way. We didn't hook the short pitched balls and reached 191 in our match against Australia but we lost to a better team.

Its time to learn from your mistakes and not look for scapegoats because the teams that won played better cricket, cricket with brains. Why blame the captain? Why not the coaches for not pointing out what the team as doing wrong?

Its time to get real and cut the hoo ha that the media hype has created. Its cricket and not a circus or a movie. The players are professionals and they have to step up their game and learn from their mistakes and most of all, learn to take the initiative from their opponents and then play a winning game.

we care a damn.

MAKE dhoni PERMANENT CAPTAIN

fukk i care about this politics anymore...

enough politics by tendulkar, vengsarkar, gavaskar, srikunt, pawar, dhoni, etc.

what the above say is quite different from what they want.

DHONI ALWAYS got away and extracted the most with political blame games. we care a damn, make him permanent captain.

Srikanth and Dhoni are responsible for this flop show
by Sarah Shaikh on May 14, 2010 11:09 AM

The Team selection was ridiculous!
I think that Irfan and Uthappa and even Dravid would have made a HUGE Difference to the existing squad!
To make matter worse, above three and even Ishant does not figure out in Zimbabwe tour. It will be a circus of Indian cricket there.
WE need at least THREE Individuals in selection panel and should be with the full consultation of the Coach. Captain's job is to manage the team he has been presented with!!!
Hope you all agree!!!

IPL must be discouraged.
by Raj Rajaram on May 13, 2010 04:44 PM  | Hide replies

I donot see any positive contrribution by IPL but many negative points:
1.Given rise to corruption of unimaginable propotions.
Devided the country on region basis. I have heard people on the street in both Mumbai and Chennai talking passionately of dismembering each others team before the finals. This is a dangerous trend.
3. Commercialsing the sport as the T20 performance shows.Pride in representing the country given a go by for sake of money.
4. Exposed weakness of our main players to the players from other countries.Inability of our players to negotiate shortpitched balls, an example.
5. Let our foreign exchange be driven out of the country. This could have been well spent on othe sports in India if not on cricket.

It is about time we let sport be played for its own value and not put a price tag on it.

IPL must have its own teams. the members playing in IPL must not be taken in INDIAN NATIONAL TEAM. So that the spirit of National Team Survives. IPL is private let it deal with private players no National Player. Dhoni & Team mates are forgetting about the pride of wearing Indian Cap.

Ganguly was uncomfortable against short bowling in all formats. While current indian players are uncomfortable only in T-20 format because they can't left out so many deliveries in T-20.

Against Australia when Sachin almost won singlehandedly, where was Dhoni? What was his score or strike rate? What was he doing in Aus?

Dobhi-a Pathetic soul

If you do not believe me. Go watch the tape when Sachin was named MOM in the Sri Lanka Finals and watch Dhobi's face turn from smile to frown when they announce Sachin's name

Watch the match where Dhobi seemed to deny Tendy his 200 by keeping tandy off strike for almost 3 overs.

You people are infatuated with Dhoni , how can you be expected to have a balanced point of views

1.But he was not contender for MOM in final. It was clear Sachin will get it.

2.Sachin accepted in media that he told the Dhoni to go for big shots because I was very tired.
