Legend Kapil Dev founded ICL and is the original founder and owner of the format we see today in IPL. Now Kapilji have a chance to promote what he originally started but was sidelined by the political and money power of people like Pawar,Modi ,....
I do not understand why, in spite of being taught British English, news agencies also start using US english. It should have been "learnt" rather than "learned".

We need to have fast and pacy pitches in India, all we have is dead burial grounds that is good for only under arm cricket. So many talks and comments have been made by our worthies yet the same old drama continues. Wonder what makes our bosses to still sleep in a fairyland and make lots of moolah from scandals and back biting? Neither we have the right set of new generation batters barring a few who can play genuine fast bowling on quick tracks nor a new set of super quicks. Look at Australia, what a system they have, why cannot we emulate them. Their, everything is classy, stadiums, pitches, facilities for spectators, system for nurturing new blood, professional management, top class support staff and above all a wonderful pool of players, with some 30 extra ones in waiting.

Suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi [ Images ] on Tuesday received four documentary 'proofs' of his alleged wrongdoings from the BCCI, which said it could not offer other evidences since those were of verbal nature.
Modi's lawyer Mehmood S Abdi said after receiving the documents from the BCCI headquarters that out of 10 references in the show cause notice, for which the suspended IPL chief wanted documentary proof, only four were given while the rest, it has been told, were by nature of oral communications only.
"We had asked for some documents from the Board. We needed documentary support for at least 10 references made in the show cause notice out of which four have been provided to us today," Abdi said.
"Board secretary (N Srinivasan) has written in an e-mail to Mr Modi that other references made in the show cause notice for which we wanted documentary support were oral transactions or verbal communications and there is no documentary proof for those," Modi's counsel said

Very nice one, Krishnan. This is how the BCCI also functions. Misappropriration of funds is BCCI's forte. Modi also took a bite.
The entire matter should be investigated by an independent body, not by Gavaskar or Sastri (both are crooks). By someone who has no interest in BCCI.
