Being an ardent fan of Indian team in the best interest of the future of the game in India, I hope India does not qualify for Semis. Atleast this will help them to realize that Playing for India and for IPL is different, where partying was always on, even on game days. Playing for the country needs more discipline and patriotic spirit. There is no dearth of talent. Only more commitment will get better results.

Since India started playing cricket likes of Vijay Hazare,Subhash Gupte,Gavasker,Sardesai,Vengsarker,Sandeep Patil,Sanjay Manjrekar and the lion of Indian cricket Sachin Tendulker have kept the Indian flag flying at the international level.Sachin single handedly took India to the final of 2003 world cup but due to an average bowling attack we lost the finals. This current lot does has a lone mumbai batsman Rohit Sharma who has shown some courage against fast bowlers. It is sad to see our batsman doing bhangra and bharatnatyam to mediocre west Indian bowling.I dont know how they would have faced Marshal,Garner,Holding and Roberts. Why Sujit Smsunder,Akash Chopra get a chance to play and likes of Ajinkya Rahane are sidelined.Why Amol Muzumdar the highest run getter in Ranji history never got a chance to play a single international match.Same was the case with Shivalker.If selectors can give 10 chances to Pathan why not 1 chance to Muzumdar ,Rahane or Shivalker.Unfortunately shivalker and muzumdar can no longer play foe India because they are too old now.

I think culprit in this case is Vengsarkar...He should have taken care of Mumbaikars when he was at helm..isnit? but i thought he backed Agarkar, Powar, Jaffer unfortunately these guys did not do justice to Vengsarkar..
