Toss factor
by shailesh rajaram kadam on May 10, 2010 11:05 AM

I still do not understand why Dhoni did not opt for Bat after winning both the tosses. Specially it was a lesson learned after loosing first match and should have opted for batting in second match......it looks like they are not interested to win and play 2 more matches just for sake of rest as they are really tired after carrying a lot of money from IPL........

Munish Dhawan
India in WC-T-20
by Munish Dhawan on May 10, 2010 10:37 AM

No one understand why M.Vijay was selected ahead of Dinesh Karthik. Atleast Karthik has experience. As far Jadeja how come a guy who had not played in IPL prove his worth to the selectors. How on earth P Chawla got selected instead of P Ojha / A Mishra who had tremendous success in IPL. Agree that R.Sharma was inconsistent but he is not in the eleven for all the matches and this factor is not helping him. Why Dhoni went in with just two pacers. The selectors are wrong with team selection and for Indian debacle 85% Selectors and 10% Dhoni and 5% all the team is responsible. Atleast now during IPL make the boundaries larger and pitches sportive so that we can compete with world class teams.

Selection Poor
by Sowri Rajan on May 10, 2010 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni went wrong selecting Jadeja, who missed a couple of catches, gave away too many runs and scored hardly a run.

Strongly urge Dhoni to go for a kill against Sri Lanka. India still has an outside chance of making it to the Semifinals.

Drop Yuvi. We keep on saying that he is a 'finisher'. He has not done anything of that sort. He only finishes the matches early.

If you are not going to give any chance to other players, why do you pick them up in the first place.

DHONI is an average keeper, decent batsman and an over-rated Captain. He is like Amitabh and Shah-Rukh. Lot of hype and time-space. There is nothing about his captaincy that stands out. on the other hand he make many basic mistakes which , by his good fortune do not get exploited. It is time his hand is called. He has ensured that Dinesh Karthik does not play regularly for India, so that he doesnt become a rival

Australia into the semis
by x on May 10, 2010 10:09 AM

aussies will win the t20 wc easily. the only cup missing in their collection will soon be their's. indian must learn to play in bouncy pitches and no use of playing in flat home pitches. playins so many ipl matches prove to be of no use.

India Semis Chance
by yaju thapliyal on May 10, 2010 09:47 AM  | Hide replies

What India needs to do to qualify for Semi Final?

With big loss against Australia in first super eight game their net run rate has also taken beating considerably and at presently their NRR is hovering at -1.58.

The equation for them is also not as easy as for the West Indies or Sri Lanka. Here is the scenario, if they bat first they must beat Sri Lanka by 20 runs or more margins and if they have to chase down the Sri Lankan total then they must chase down in 17.3 overs or less.
Not only that they have to also hope that West Indies loss their game against Australia to make them qualify for the semi final.

DHONIS LUCK RUNNING OUT
by JOHN HOW on May 10, 2010 09:40 AM  | Hide replies

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY DHONI DOESNT TAKE BATTING AFTER WINNING A TOSS.IN T20 ANYONE WHO BATS FIRST ALWAYS/MOSTLY WINS.AS WE DIDNT HAVE QUALITY BOWLERS,DHONI SHOULD HAVE OPTED TO BAT FIRST.SHEWAG WAS GREATLY MISSED.I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY MURLI VIJAY IS IN THE TEAM...WHY JADEJA IS IN THE TEAM...WHY GAMBHIR HAS TO TOUCH THE BALL WHEN ITS GOING OVER HIS HEAD...WHY THE TEAM DIDNT FUNCTION AS A UNIT.....IS IT BECAUSE THE IPL HAS HELPED THEM MAKE ENOUGH MONEY???SOMETIMES I WONDER WHY DO WE TAKE TENSION....DO WE GET ANYTHING IF THEY WIN??? SCREW THESE JOKERS FOR LETTING THE NATION DOWN YET AGAIN...

India Vs Australia...
by Chicago Male on May 10, 2010 08:46 AM  | Hide replies

I think when it comes to sports India should just bend over and let Australia have it. It does not matter whether it's cricket or Hockey or for that matter any other sports. It's a good think "Kabbaddi" has not picked up world wide and we can dominate it especially in SAARC games.

India is depressed
by Ram Chauthariya on May 10, 2010 08:32 AM

It seems the whole nation has gone into depression over a sports team loss. Why? In India, parents do not even want their kids to play sports but concentrate only on books
