Bunch of Jokers - Selectors
by M K on May 10, 2010 04:58 PM

As usual a good excuse for not picking some one for the team,
as usual the selectors proved they are a BUNCh of JOKERS with Srikanth leading from the front, Kiran moe was a better selector than this joker

Indian cricker ????
by dharmendra gupta on May 10, 2010 02:45 PM  | Hide replies

I am scared , what is going to happen if Sachin,Dravid and laxmen will take retirement from test cricket. The bunch of jokers not able to perform. They haven't learn anything from last T-20 world cup. I think they all should be rested and new team will send next time for T-20 world cup. Because they can play only IPL INDIAN PAISA LENA

Just to be a popular and favourite captain
by Amit Bhatnagar on May 10, 2010 02:33 PM

Dhoni likes to win the confidence of tommorrow's guy like Jadeja,M.Vijay.Even after hitting for 3 consecutive sixes, he gave bowling to Jadeja, what happened after was a history. Next match,First of all every team plays on their strength,India has so called strong batting line up, then also they dint batted and set up a good target with eight batsmen they opted for bowling. on any day a good leg spinner(Piyush Chawla) would get an edge over Jadeja at least against WI considering they dont play spinners well, but again Dhoni chor, selected Jadeja. That was not enough, even after seeing his confidence in fielding, he handed over bowl to him, result everyone knows.Again he gave another over to him, result had not much of a difference.

Wrong Team Selection
by Krishnendu Dey on May 10, 2010 02:30 PM

Selection of India's 2nd grade team in the try-series reveals India's self-destroying over confidence. Where India's 1st team without Tendulkar is doing mess in T-20 WC, another mess in the try-series will add an insult to injury. This year India will play a fistfull of ODI and test. Therefore, it would have been a wise decision to let our front line players, who are supposed to be participating in WC2011, to have some practice in outside subcontinent pitches. May be Zimbabwe is a weak team, but dont forget Sri Lanka. India's recent ODI performace against SL was not up to the level. So, it could be a good time to defeat SL and gain some confidence.
Above all, we all are hoping for a century of centuries from Tendulkar, but the lack of numbers of ODI and tests in recent time due to invent of foolish T-20 games, we may have to relinquish our hopes. Who can tell, in this try-series Tendulkar could have increased his 100s by another 2!

kick dhobi out
by ASHISH KUMAR on May 10, 2010 02:02 PM  | Hide replies

More than team selection, political dhobi is main reason.
Final eleven is selected by him & he ensures that his closed friends like of yuvi, gambhir, bahjji, praveen, nehra, ishant, RP, jadeja etc play in all matches irrespective of performance.
For every win he is given credit though his own performance is nothing, no credit given to selectors.
same should apply for loss also he only to be blamed & not selectors.
No double standard & regional feeling please

It's your double standards if you are to say that because you're the most racist guy on rediff. always doing north v/s south thing irrespective of players' performance

Let's not all blame srikanth for not selecting uthappa with a fake injury reason. Dhoni may have a hand in this too as uthappa is also a WK and dhoni sees a threat to his place

Now it is once again proved class outplayed form. Without Sachin, Shewag, Ganguly, Dravid could u imagine the position of India. If u see the IPL, the stacs of these players shows it all.

also add laxman in ur list- most capable batsman after sachin who can play on any track against any opposition. Any batsman with good technique can improve his strike rate in T20 if given a proper chance. But reverse is not true & flat track bulley like dhobi, yivi, raina, gambhir, pathan etc can't play quality bowling any time in life,
