The problem with indian mentalities are that we always interested in this sport where it as a huge audience appeal and paisa vasool type of fundas. We must come forward and acknowledge other sports such as Football, Tennis, Hockey and Athletics. These sports should get much recognition than cricket where players get high profile treatment by their officials. Remove the government bodies and let private firm takes it over. Politics should stay away from sport.

Pakistan duo's observation
by Dilip Mahanty on May 10, 2010 09:29 AM  | Hide replies

Pakistan is always looking for intrigue and conspiracy in India, consistent with its national pastime. These two worthies are a by product of the system. By pulling down India to their level of pettiness they feel they have scored a significant point for their distingrating country! Yuvraj's lack of form has been obvious and Dhoni's continued faith in him is difficult to understand. On current form Yuvraj doesn't deserve selection in any of the three forms of the game and no one would even object if Dhoni cast him afloat! He has put on weight, is lumbering in the field and has no confidence in his batting. He has work to do with his fitness and batting technique! So why would Yuvraj plot against the man who is backing him inspite of his drawbacks? Who else is secure enough to challenge Dhoni or create rift? Akhtar & Moin should look under their own beds for gremlins!

Mahanty:

Absolutely spot on..

What Moin and Akhtar fail to comprehend is that ours is just an average side after all... who are performing as a well knit unit to the best of their ability.... and the best of their ability is not good enough to see them through a st00p1d side like Australia and West Indies... :)

There is no occasion for the duo to imply that the Indian team is actually greater than what it is - whose lacklustre performance can be explained away by theories of rifts etc..

rift within Indian team but why do they fish in troubled water?
by raman govindan on May 10, 2010 08:55 AM

most of the indians at every walk of life work or play for their persona glory, success, profit. even the great national leaders do not have non partisan or total national outlook. they tailor the policies/programme to suit their benefit. if it succeed, it is their personal one and fails it is national one.

Yuvraj only plays for money not for the pride for country, he is the most overrated and over hyped player in India. Just have a look at his records, his averages are very ordinary and very few situations where he has turned around the match from a losing to a winning situations. He will play only one food inning in 15 innings and will make sure that he remains in good books of selectors and ensures his contract is there in A category. He is more keen on parties and brand endorsement for huge money.
What is Ravinder Jadeja doing in WC, he did not play in IPL and still picked up ( great example of how lucky or how well some one be connected with selectors ) he has coceded most sixes in the WC and his batting only going down and down. Selectors, please doa favour to India, all of you should resign immediately and let a new and more dynamic team of selectors takes over.

Even if current Indian players has a talent that doesn't mean that they are world class player No. Classy player always dominates the opposition consistently and gets world wide respect. Sadly, whole indian team has turned heroes to villians this time.

Actually they are trying to improve the rating of Dhoni's men by trying to prove that India is not just an average side after all...

But they don't understand that our team is actually performing as a well knit unit to the best of their ability.... and the best of their ability is not good enough to see them through a st00p1d side like Australia and West Indies... :)

When we won the inaugral t20 event on 2007, did sachin, saurav, dravid, kumble & laxman played? No.
Then why such question arises.

dhoni never wanted any senior for t20. dravid and sachin were rested for first edition officially although it was quoted that they opted out. sachin clearly showed the discontent then as he wanted to play. he has full right not to play under dhoni.
