Re: Predicting unpredictable ....!!

Icc should ignore duckworth lewis in t20 format, if the match is interpted by rain, share points between the teams. any comments?
We should bring into consideration another important and essential parameter into this - the career strike rate of the batsman currently performing so that the projected runs also become a function of this along with other parameters.
The ideal solution to this is whenever there is a stoppage, the teams projected score is to be calculated. This should be based on the number of overs remaining, wickets in hand, and most importantly, who are the remaining batsmen. That means we have to consider the average and strike rate of the remaining batsmen. ( considering those of the bowlers will make the method accurate bu complicated) I ve worked on this some 10 years back but lost interest and left out. Now let me try and find whether it works without error. It will take average of the projected score from a chart similar to the DL, and the projected runs scored in the remaining overs by the remaining batsmen, and also considering the average score of last 10 innings in that pitch.

go get admitted in mental hospital, rather than giving foolish ideas. if the match is interpted by rain treat it as match abadoned by rain.
Duckworth lewis is a good method and has served cricket well all these years. It is only when the overs given to the batting team are are very few that there is an issue. The issue is in direct proportion to the number of reduced overs. Therefore a very simple way would be to keep D/L in its entirety and add 1 run to the target for every over reduced. In Eng/W.I. case since the D/L target was 43/0 in 5 overs, 15 overs reduced, then it would become 43 15=68/0 in 5 overs, or 46 15=71/1 in 5. The fact that a wicket = only 3 runs is no issue as under pressure to score batsmen often fail to score even a single run or waste balls. Basant Pandey. Mumbai.

Duckworth lewis are brainless, hope you have not forgot that Southafricans had to score 16 runs from 1 ball when they crusing for victory in a semifinal worldcup match.
Reduce the number of wickets too according to the numbers of overs remmaning..
Like team chasing with 7 overs will have only 3 or 4 wickets..
I think both teams will be happy with this. Coz otherwise it seems unfair to the team batting first..and second cannot complain too coz..they can play best possible batsman

That way, the team chasing cannot throw their wickets just coz they have 10 wickets at their disposal
Agassi vs Sampras two sets each. 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-7 fifth set tiebreaker playing Sampras to serve at 6-all!! Rain or lava storm or some weather intervention intervenes!! Can any one predict the win mathematically??

Even if one is losing 0-6,0-6,0-5 and it rains, nobody will allow declaring the person who leads by 2 sets the winner. Then there is no use of playing a best of five sets.
