Ind Vs Aus Test match in Hyderabad
by kaushik on May 05, 2010 08:48 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI should allocate a test match to Hyderabad.
Since the stadium got inaugurated , not a single test match was allocated to Hyderabad.
Also, not a single World Cup match is scheduled in Hyd and all the IPL3 matches were moved out.
BCCI has to make up to cricket fans in Hyd.

Test Match audience
by S Shrikanth on May 05, 2010 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

Just see the empty stadiums in a Test match in India. All empty!

In Nagpur lat time school children were forcibly brought to stadium to fill a few seats that the TV camera could show something.

And what is the use of Team India being No. 1 among 8 test playing countries.

Bullshit!!! Test match audience in india have considerably gone up, after india became no.1 in test.

There are also other factors for increasing audience for test matches in india, the primary being sehwag and his swashbuckling 300's he has made so far.

Test Match venues Shoule be Mumbai, Chennai & Kolkata
by Senthil on May 05, 2010 06:10 PM  | Hide replies

In India test match Stadiums should be reserved only to Big cities.

India's Prime Test Match venues should be Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata.

Next Delhi (After Ban Lifted), Bengalore only. Other Stadiums can host ODI and T20 matches but not test.

I don't want to Host any Test Matches in Mohali. It's a Shame that When Sachin Passed the World Record of Highest Run Scorer there are very few people and some School Kids.

We need to have Test Matches Where are crowd willing to come and watch Test matches.

That's why I said like that.

I said all other venues can host ODI's and T20's since for that the crowd is coming. We need regularities to keep the test match going.

No use in Playing test matches with 5000 people Watching and mostly with empty seats.

If thats the case, how will the other stadiums develop.. by conducting matches in other cities they get the revenue to maintain better infrastructure. The test matches in foreign countris dont get much crowd also.

Who told you? That's why I am telling Give ODI and T20's to other venues. From that they will develop. In SA, Australia and England there will be larger crowd then ODI's or T20's.

Our test players are having enough rest.Infact they need some match.Sachin, dravid, sewag, laxman are not playing much after ipl.So i think it's a fair idea to have test that too aginst aussies.Atleast some new bowlers like mithun can get a chance.Anyways rainas, sharmas, nehra, praveen kumar will not be playing so only few players like dhoni, yuvraj, zaheer will get tired.

What an irony? Australia is visiting India every year to play a 7 match series.

And the result is the same 4-2 in favor of Australia.

It's not irony. It's strategy of Cricket Australia so that their players get maximum exposure of Indian pitches before 2011 world cup. Only by playing ODIs, they can get exposed to almost all pitches, while by playing test matches, they will get to play only on few selected pitches.

How pathetic, how unorganized - no real schedule

Random no 1 ranking. Now play to maintain it by calling some sudden series. Cricket has no schedule where ranking are calculated accurately every season. No one plays same number of games , and against equal opponents. complete nonsense

And Australia, who used to visit India every 4 years, now visiting India every year since 2007.

And both teams are playing so much of cricket that their matches are repetition of every match.

BCCI Money power is imposing superdose of cricket.

Why so much cricket ?
by Ganesh on May 05, 2010 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

Just because we want to maintain No.1 Test status, we have to play Aussies is it ?

What logic is this ?

We don't want to give rest to our players at all and keep them fit for International tours (as per ICC calendar), and International tournaments is it ? We just want to make these players play ,play, play throughout the year like machines and finally make them injury prone or fully exhausted. Then also make them play, play , play for money in IPL, this that etc...

What has Indian cricket been reduced to ?
Why are we risking our players to such enormous amount of cricket month after month without any respite ? The great Javagal Srinath was made to play all forms of cricket throughout the year and was over used and had rotator cuff tear i.e. injury to his hand. Sachin was used so much that his tennis elbow injury hampered some of his magnificent strokes. Zaheer Khan also was injured due to toooo much cricket. Do we want to lose our players by making them suffer burnout due to excessive cricket - so much so that we also overtake or create our own schedules not respecting ICC schedules also ?

Is is Indian Cricket Council or International ?

Suresh Raina is probably amongst the Top 5 Best , devastating , swashblucking batsmen in the world of T20 Cricket today. Other day Wasim Akram was saying that he has to prove in test match cricket for him to be called a great player equal to someone like Ganguly (also a left hander like Raina).

So will they put Raina in Test squad also ? A great T20 specialist for India (most amazing player to watch... brilliant) will also play ODIs and Tests....they will make him play so much cricket throughouut the year and make him tired and prone to injuries is it ?

Only hope we preserve our specialist players for special types of cricket. Test specialists shouldn't play either in T20 or ODIs.

T20 and ODI can players shouldn't play in Tests.

We are not some tiny nation. We have more than billion people in India and 1000s of talented cricketers from various states to have such separate specialised teams , so that we successfully perform in all 3 versions of the game and make OUR INDIA the top team in all 3 versions by having fresh players with limited to no injuries when they play.

good absorvation bro but I don’t agree with few points t20 & odi specialist should not plau test cricket because great and good players adopt to every situation very best example: Sachin the great, sehwag, hayden, gilchirst, gambhir etc.. but there are test specialist like laxman, langer etc t20 specialist yusuf….. bcci should give rest to prestigious players for big series top players shuld not be selected palying agaist bangladesh give chance to young and other bench players..

ICC will agree only a tour date between the Countries. But it depends on Two Country Administrators to decide How many Matches as Test, ODI and T20. ICC have nothing to say in this. This is now in between India and Australia to decide.

MOhali, Nagpur are pathetic test venues with empty stadiums.. In Mohali they had Australia losing to India and tendulkar scoring 12000 runs and hardly any crowds.. In Nagpur India won the series against Australia and it was Ganguly's last test and no one turned up.. it was pathetic..
