Dhoni - Hope better sense prevails - Don't experiment in worldcu
by S Satya on May 03, 2010 09:58 AM

We would have almost lost the match, it is shocking that inspite of blunder committed we won the match. why the ball was given to yousuf, inspite of going for so many runs is unknown and logic of dhoni cannot be understood 4overs-42 runs, Praveen kumar only bowled one over for 3 runs, We can only pray that better sense prevails in further games. All other bowlers bowled better than yousuf. He seems to have some liking for yousuf, who was also promoted up the order. I am sure dhoni will realise, world cup is no stage to experiment in future games.

At one point of time during mid 90's I use to switch off TV's once Sachin got out.. Such was the influnce of him.. just give him due respect dont be jealous of him.

Yeah. But also evaluate him the right way. He is not above anything. He is a player an has to be judged on abilities he has and criticized constructively on the ones he does not.

ranjan, feel sorry for you if you used to switch off TV once sachin got out. that means you may have had the joy of watching sachin play but you missed out on the joy of seeing india winning the match.

hello, SRT never won India anything. He's a indiv records specialist that never ever performs when most needed. Please get off this SRT is a superstar chant and get real. He has never been a clutch player or matchwinner.

I can't believe that there are dumb asses like you in India still..
The whole world reckons Sachin is unparallelled in the contemporary cricket..
Guys like Dhoni, Viru, Raina grew up watching the Legend play and learnt a leaf or two about the game..
People across the globe are naming their kids Sachin as an honour to the Genius.
Even the Australians, who always find a chink or two in the opposition numbers, take an exception with Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and adore him.
I doubt u r indifferent simply because to conciously chose to, else it's high time u visit a psychotherapist (r u'll end up a psycho, the rapist)...

akashay (sorry about the previous misspelling), nastik man. I don't hate sachin nor am i jealous of him. But i certainly hate what sachin has come to represent. I hate the monster that these blind sachin fanatics and dhoni haters have created out of sachin. In my younger days i had only read about the invisible man, jekyll and hyde, dracula, and the monsters that superman, spiderman and other super heroes battled with. Now the time has come to battle and kill the monster that these people have created out of sachin, and have him back in his original pure form, with all his good qualities as well as short comings in short let us the have the sachin the 'human' back.

Akshay i don't hate sachin. I have never said anything that should make anyone feel that i hate sachin. please take a look at all my previous posts and tell me which one of them makes you think i hate sachin. I only started posting when i couldn't stand the way some blind sachin fans idolised sachin only and attributed each and every single indian win to sachin 'single-handedly'. According to them only sachin plays in indian team and 'the rest 10 never ever play'. The way they ridiculed the new generation of indian players also made me very angry. And since Dhoni's arrival these blind sachin fans started their hate campaign against him calling him names, twisting his name, calling him useless, no good, batting once in 20 innings only on flat tracks against weak bowling under non pressure situation, political, regional etc. Simply because dhoni arrived on the international scene with a bang and with his consistent and outstanding batting won india many matches and stole sachin's thunder. This got to the nerves of these blind sachin fans as they hated to share the credit of indian wins with anybody else than sachin and they went berserk. I started posting mainly as a reply to people like LG, Against Pseudos, Ashish Kumar, Arvin g etc. according to these people only sachin exists and no other indian players are worth anything. Let me repeat that i don't hate sachin but certainly i hate what sachin has come to represent.

Sachin has scored 93 centuries. You are trying to say that india lost all those games? apart from his batting, he has won india games with his bowling too.. check records buddy! or check your mind!

SRT might be a great player..but not a consistent big match winner ..you can count the number of big matches he won for us.

Rahul Dravid too deserves place besides sachin in the indian greats list..RD was much better player in tests than SRT

Dont Forget, raina's ability to play and adapt to the short pitch ball. Whom do you think would have given him advice about it? It is the legend himself who invented the upper cut. He does not only play for himself but shares the knowledge. I am from chennai but in india stage i do not compare anyone. We, the people of india love him and so does the rest of india.

nastik man, yes sachin has scored 93 centuries and i am not at all saying that india lost all those games. yes apart from batting he has won india games with his bowling too. I have never refused to accept these facts. I am only against those people who claim that sachin has won all the games that india ever won (when sachin was in the team) 'single-handely' with 'no contribution from rest 10 players' as many on this forum claim. Sachin is also human, and like any other human makes mistakes and has his shortcomings. By making him god people lose the perspective and cannot see clearly. They give him all qualities of god and refuse to admit that he can also be wrong and can commit mistakes. I simply point out to such people what facts are. If that makes some of you think that i hate sachin then you are very wrong. Like varun has said 'But also evaluate him the right way. He is not above anything. He is a player an has to be judged on abilities he has and criticized constructively on the ones he does not'. when someone points out such instances don't take an ostrich-like attitude but try to understand what that person has to say. when somebody says that he has failed often during crunch/pressure situations please check the records whether that is the case don't be blinded by his achievements. It is a fact that when the target is easy/moderate/not big he scores often. Most of his centuries while batting second has come this way. In such cases he plays well 7-8 times out

It is a fact that when the target is easy/moderate/not big he scores often. Most of his centuries while batting second have come this way. In such cases he plays well 7-8 times out 10. When the target is 180, 220 or 240 he has performed well and scored centuries many times. But when the target is big/difficult/huge like 280, 320 or 350 he often fails.
In the former case sachin performs well 7-8 times out of 10 while in the latter case he fails to perform 7-8 times out of 10. some people say that the one day triangular series in australia was won by sachin. They point out his two big scores in the finals. According to them only sachin was responsible for that win and nobody else contributed anything worth mentioning. The truth is in that series sachin played well only in the last 3 matches, the two finals and the last league match. The fact is while coming to the finals sachin's form was cause for worry for indian fans. He was not in the 'form of his life' in that series like some people believe (against pseudos had made such a claim in one of his posts) In the league matches sachin had scored only about 190 runs in 8 matches with an average of around 23 runs. He came in into his own only in the finals. But there too india performed well as a team. Yes sachin made a century in the first final. But there was nothing 'single-handed' about the win. It was our bowlers who had done most of the damage while restricting australia to 239 runs.

It was our bowlers who were the architects of the win in the finals. As usual while chasing a modest score like 239 sachin played well and scored a century. But as no single bowler had taken many wickets and the wickets were distributed evenly among the indian bowlers sachin got MOM. Apart from the bowlers uthappa also batted well with the 50 plus partneship with sachin for first wicket. Rohit sharma also came up with a good score of 66 runs. In the second finals india batted first sachin made a good 91 but other players also gave good support. dhoni and yuvraj also scored about 37-38 runs each at 100 strike rate. The final score was also not very intimidating a competitive 258 runs. But again our bowlers came to the party and restricted the aussies. This time praveen kumar took 4 wickets and was MOM. (Many people mistakenly believe that sachin was MOM in both finals) So all in all that series india won due to team effort and sachin contributed his bit. But for some people sachin solely was responsible for that win and it was due to the efforts of people like these that the myth of god sachin got created over a period of last 20 years.

Dhoni repeating the same mistake what did Ganguli
by Satyam Jain on May 02, 2010 10:55 PM  | Hide replies

I personally feel that Dhoni has started committing the same mistake what did Ganguli in last stage of his carrier.
In Selection of team, everybody has seen that The players who have performed really well has been simply ignored.
In match with SA, we ave seen that although spinners were doing veru bad in compare to M.Fast bowlers, A Nehra bowled 3 overs instead of his full spell and Praveen only one over.
