CSK vs RCB
by Senthil on Mar 31, 2010 03:27 PM

urn around their fortunes while Royal Challengers Bangalore who are in red hot form will be looking to continue their winning run.

The Super Over defeat against Kings XI Punjab began Chennai's downfall and it has not being arrested yet. Chennai presently lie seventh in the league standings. With just four points from seven games, the Super Kings have to win at least five of the next seven to remain in contention for the semi-finals. The Super Kings need to play out of their skins to surge ahead.

The Anil Kumble-led Banglore team appears a better team with a strong batting line-up and a very sharp bowling attack that could prove decisive on the bouncy Chepauk pitch.

The last time the two teams met, in Bangalore a week back, the Super Kings were riding pegged RCB back at 110 for three after 16 overs, but Robin Uthappa, dropped when on five and 25, made a destructive a 38-ball 68 to help his team post 171. Vinay Kumar then delivered crucial blows to pick up four wickets as RCB got better of CSK.

Sack Sanga and Mahela from the team play S.Marsh, R.Bopara, B.Lee and Rusty Throne as 4 overseas player and give Captaincy to S.Marsh if KXIP management doesn't want Yuvi as captain.

S.Marsh is captain of his domestic side WA where KXIP's coach Tom Moody also Coach.

With the srilankan non performance only affecting KXIP along with yuvi. How can you bench S.Marsh earlier when he is available. if they do this and still fails then they are the KKR in making

KXI deserve bottom position, as they dont spent much time for practice session, or they are taking practice session very lightly. this is the result of that only. they have SO CALLED star players, but useless. they could not perform. anyway all the best to KXIP for IPL-2011

Hats off to MI management and Sachin
by KKing on Mar 31, 2010 11:53 AM  | Hide replies

Hats off to MI management & Sachin for bringing in players like Rayudu, Satish, Tiwari, Tare and Dhawan. Hardly anyone knew them before. Ofcourse they are big names in domestic cricket but in T20 they were unknown. They are the difference between MI and other teams. All teams have stars but the REST also matter!!!

Chennai is have a such a crap management that left out G.Vignesh to KKR, R.Sathish to MI, R.Jesuraj to DD and S.Sriram to RCB where all are on the bench apart from R.Sathish and CSK suffers very well. I hope they will also compete for the Bottom spot.

Bad captaincy
by samir khokhar on Mar 31, 2010 11:37 AM  | Hide replies

jayavardne is an experienced captain.though he made many mistakes.
(1) bopara bowled well earlier but he should not be given a crucial second last over when bowler like irfan has one over remaining.pathan s first spell was very good.
(2)field placing in brett lees over was poor.especially when only 6 runs are required from six balls.he did not bring the fielders up in circle.

Re: Bad captaincy

Sorry to say, the last match Irfan given away 21 run in his last over and Irfan is not a great death over bowler particularly when a batsman at the crease. He would have asked Yuvi a bowl in the middle overs.

If he would have brought the fielders up in the circle R.Sathish's handsome straight drive sealed the match for MI.

When 6 runs required in the last 6 balls it's always going to be the batting side who will win mostly then losing.

He did a better Captaincy then Sanga but he should have used KXIP's most Economical Bowler a few over in the middle. Guess who - it's Yuvi.

Apart from that he did well but when a team doesn't have the attitude to win a game no one can change it.

Sack Sanga and Mahela from the team play S.Marsh, R.Bopara, B.Lee and Rusty Throne as 4 overseas player and give Captaincy to S.Marsh if KXIP management doesn't want Yuvi as captain.

Hi Senthi, i totally agree with you that Mahela and Sanga should not be in the team as their batting is pathetic, how guys like Dilshan, Hodge, Hopes, AB and many more 20-20 players sitting in the bench but this two are in playing XI...this totally Kings XI management's poor team selection. Everyone shouting at Yuvi but what this 2 have done for the team even Yuvi played a match winning knock against Chennai.
I would say Yuvi deserved to be the captain and only he save the Kings XI, he is the aggressive guy and need a aggressive to captain for Kings XI. Kings did KKR this year by changing the captain. Team is loosing doen't mean captain is not doing good, take example of Mumbai Indians, they played average cricket in last 2 seasons and very cleverly rather than changing the captain, they got some good player to win matches. It's matter of 11 players not single captain to make the team winning.

MI bowled well in pieces
by Senthil on Mar 31, 2010 11:21 AM

But their batting and fielding looks like they don't want to win that game. Their body language is not that great may be due to complacency. Anyway congratulations MI just 2 win away from putting a leg in the Semi berth and a one more will assure your Semi Spot.

Well played young Indians R.Sathish, S.Dhawan and S.Tiwary.
