I am surprised at the omission of Virat Kohli from the T20 team. He definitely is a better player than Yousuf Pathan. Also Yuvraj's present form does not warrant selection.

I agree 100%. Virat's omission was a big blunder. He and Manish Pandey were much better players than Yusuf. Similarly Yuvraj and Nehra in spite of their poor form were given entry at the expense of good youngsters.
The team selection looks good, but important factor is the fitness. Not sure how many in the team are fit enough to play. The team doesnt need superstars who are unfit, but 100% match fit and performing players. That would be a major concern. Apart from this, the team looks good. All the best to the team !!!

Team India may have to take at least two orthopedic doctors, five nurses and a couple of Ayurvedic physicians with it to treat Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Nehra who are already injured and others who are yet to be injured before IPL ends. Sahara Group may sponsor a special ambulance vehicle for the team.
Many readers are expressing regret for not selecting Sachin for 20-20 WC team. They should know that Sachin himself has opted out from selection of the team as he has decided not to play any international 20-20 matches. Sunil Gavaskar had recently advised Sachin to review his decision but Sachin has politely turned down his advice and firmly said he will not play 20-20 international matches. I think it was a very good decision as 20-20 cricket has become more like a rugby game where players get hurt easily. Sachin want to be in cricket for longer period as he still in tremendous form. 20-20 is for gully cricketers like Yuvraj and Yusuf Pathan not for classy cricketers like Sachin & Dravid.

Sachin has taken the right decision.
he should work on his fitness and keep on going so that we can see him for a much longer time in ODI & TEST cricket. Which require Sachin for his pure elegance and class.
so the same for Dravid and VVS. for the Test Teams.

I am big fan of Sachin...but Sachin is trying to play with English Footballer's mentality. They give more weightage to EPL that playing for Country and Sachin is doing the same. How could he play IPL then. Still, big fan of him but hot hurt by his decision.

we have bowling worries then batting...Nehra shouldn't have been picked considering he is not 100% fit and hasn't played a single match forawhile..instead should have gone for bowling all rounder or pure batsman to go out with even stronger batting line up! But I do agree that Manish Pandey should have been picked for T20 WC Squad
I was one of the Fan of Srikanth, But i am very shame to tell to this...Y he is picking Nehra, Chawla and Vinay. What about Ojha and Mishra? What about Udappa,Pandey,S.Tiwary? ......Sorry to say that its a poor selection?

Where do Udappa,Pandey,S.Tiwary fit and by replacing whom. There is a limit of only 15 can be selected. In this case can you fit these players ?

Do you know how Vinay was performing in domestic cricket during last two years? He actually deserved selection much before Tyagi and Mithun but was unfortunate to be ignored.
The golden arm of Joginder Sharma will definitely be missed, the lucky mascot of Indian should not be left behind, though i know that most of my friends bowl better than him, but they lack the luck factor. Miss U Uthappa, now after the 'Lack Luster' displayed in picking up a young talented squad, its only God who can bring glory to Team India. But fellas, best thing to watch is the performance of the left outs like Uthappa, Manish pandey, Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha. well, i am sure that my children will talk about T20-2008 till some new format of cricket is introduced and Team India wins it once and only once...
really m very shock of entry of rohit sharma...? wot abt manish pandy,uthappa,shaurabh tiwary dis guyz really playing good then rohit. here there's 1 more question about yusuf... he play big only in 1 out 5...what is in use of that...better that his bro is gud irfan. he is in gud form.m not satified with piyush chawla also. murli kartik,ashwim frm csk dey both doin gr8...lets see yarr wt India do in world cup.. Rohit Sharma (Good Batsmen But Low On Confidence & Current Form)
Piyush Chawla (Totally Useless Selection When the team already has good spin all rounders, in Ravinder jadeja, yusuf pathan plus harbhajan.)
Yuvraj Singh (Although can prove as a big win factor on the past record in T20, Current form is very poor, but can make with a bit bowling and sharp fielding effort)
Good that finally Ishant Sharma is out.
Other Deserving players would have been,
Saurabh Tiwari, Robin Utthapa, Shikhar Dhawan, Manish Pandey, Irfan Pathan.
