BCCI is right here
by mohan br on Mar 25, 2010 02:44 PM

BCCI is right to feel that way, as the players concerned are on their contract. The players should have discussed with their employers on such trips, that too mid way through an event supported by BCCI.

Daredevils' Treatment
by gladson dalmeida on Mar 25, 2010 02:05 PM | Hide replies

BCCI is actually right. In case of the dope test and the players are found with certain substance which is not permitted, who is responsible? Whatever the credentials of the player, in a way they are employees of BCCI. If an employee falls sick on duty, he must first inform his employer, before seeking treatment in a place which is not in Employers' list. Mind you BCCI is the official Board of Cricket in India and whether it is IPL or any other format, they all come under one umbrella organization called BCCI. There is T20 World Cup scheduled for next month and if ICC decides to have dope test before tha tournament and if the unwanted substance is found among these players, who will assume responsibility. It is easy to criticise BCCI for each and everything. But becuase they monitoring the entire system, we have a team which performs well and respected. Take for example of neighbouring Pakistan or Sri Lanka Boards. Neither players are controlled nor the Board officials. And finally the sufferer is cricket. Players under BCCI contract are bound by BCCI rules and regulation throughout the contract period, whether during active playing season or break. BCCI pays them huge money unlike other boards and what is wrong if it expects its players to keep them informed about their whereabouts specially during the active season?

Did the two DareDevils apply for sick leave? Did they inform BCCI? This is what has irked BCCI. Let them go anywhere. But first inform. Morover, they did not take any leave. They were still the part of the team and in between they made their way to Sri Lanka. Secondly as long as your employer pays for your medical, you either need to inform him as to which hospital you are visiting or should go to the hospital which the employer has tie up with. Even for the company I work for, if I visit other doctor than the prescribed by the company, they not only refuse paying medical bills but even issue notice as to why we visited doctor other than the prescribed one. If you fall sick at home, no one is worried where you go. But if you fall sick on duty, you are bound by company laws.

Now, the human right activists of this board should go to BCCI & they have to protest against violation of human right by BCCI.

Its interesting that you need to someone to control a sport. For eg - BCCI = Board of Cricket Control of India. It should have been Board of Cricket Promotion. And because it has control in its name its living up to its naem and thats all. They will next time ask them to obtain permission to pee/poo and meet with thei partners and so on

When you sign a contract for a series, as per the contract you need to indicate where you go, even if you want go for... Otherwise, you should not signed the contract.

There were once a tortoise family...Father, Mother and Baby, Grand Father and Grand Mother. One beautiful spring day, they decided to go on a picnic. They thought about the trip for a while and finally chose the ideal location--a lovely wooded area some distance away from their home. The Tortoise Family began to gather together the things for their picnic. They got cans of salmon and cans of tongue, sandwiches, orange squash, and everything else they could think of. After about three months of preparation, they were all ready and so they set out, carrying their baskets.

They walked and walked and walked. Time passed and, after about eighteen months, they sat down to have a rest, but they knew exactly where they wanted to go for their picnic and they were already almost halfway there...so they soon set out again. Three years after they had begun their excursion, they arrived at their chosen location and it was a beautiful spot. They unpacked their baskets, spread the red-and-white checkered cloth out on the ground and arranged the food. Everything looked wonderful.

But then, with a concerned frown upon her face, Mother Tortoise began to search frantically through the picnic baskets. She turned them all upside down and shook them, but they were totally empty...every last one of them. Mother Tortoise turned to her puzzled little family. "We've forgotten the can-opener!" she told them in dismay.

They looked at each other for a while and, at last, Father and Mother Tortoise told Baby that he would have to go back home and get it.

"What?" asked Baby Tortoise. "Go back all that long way?" Father Tortoise nodded his head gravely. "Nothing else for it," he said mournfully. "We need the can-opener." "We'll wait for you," added Mother Tortoise kindly, "and we won't touch anything until you get back."

"You promise?" queried Baby Tortoise. "You won't take even the teeniest- tiniest bite?" Both Mother and Father promised faithfully so Baby Tortoise plodded away and, after a while, was lost to sight among the bushes.

Father Tortoise and Mother Tortoise waited...and waited...and waited. A whole year went by and they were beginning to get rather hungry, but they had promised Baby that they wouldn't take even the smallest crumb of anything until he returned and so, they waited. Yet another year went by and they become really hungry, but they had promised and so, they waited. Then Father Tortoise said, "Don't you think we could maybe have just one little sandwich each? After all, Baby Tortoise will never know the difference!" "Shame on you!" declared Mother Tortoise. "We made him a promise and we

And so, they waited...and waited...and waited. Another year passed and then another. By this time, Mother and Father Tortoise were ravenous. One day, Mother Tortoise announced, "It's been six years...you'd think Baby would have been back by now!" Father Tortoise agreed. "Yes, you'd think so, wouldn't you? Why don't we have just one sandwich between us while we're waiting?"

Mother Tortoise looked toward where Baby Tortoise had disappeared over six years ago and, seeing no sign of his return, unwrapped one of the sandwiches. As she and Father Tortoise began to nibble on half each, a little voice said, "Aha! I knew it...I just knew you'd cheat and not wait for me to come back!" Suddenly, the head of Baby Tortoise popped out of a bush. "It's a good thing I never started for home to go fetch that can-opener!"

Not really. However if you go through BCCI, you go to a lousy doctor of their choice who gives back money to BCCI to stay on the roll.

If you go to Sri Lanka, you go to a doctor of your choice and enjoy the neighborhood spa.

After all, your a millionare from the IPL so better take care of ur health properly
