Kochi - Home of one day Limited overs cricket in the world
by Kerala Varma on Mar 21, 2010 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

HI guys, what many of you do not know is that One day limited overs cricket was first invented in Kochi during 1940's. There is still a tournament happening every year in Kochi from 1940's. Ask any of india's test players about Pooja Knockout Tournament in Kochi. They will know about it. This is the oldest Oneday tournament in the world.
So KOchi has a very big base for cricket and we are happy that we have a team in IPL.
Kochi can boast of cricket's history much better than any of the other cities in India. Then we like all sports, so we enjoy every sport. We are not biased.

People are jealous and ignorant about other states. That is why they write all these unwanted words. like the Typical Indian Politicians

Thank you

...and the clown has been offered the captaincy by the new owners; there is a limit to what you could do with your unearned money, but offering captaincy to Sreesanth would amount to a great insult on all right-thinking Keralites.

It is not dependent on equal representation of all states. Franchisees represents the cities with stadiums. Those franchisees who quotes higher bids gets it. If other cities wants it, they should try to get some good franchisees and take part in the bidding process. That's all in this.

KERALA TOO FALLEN VICTIM
by daytime saint on Mar 21, 2010 04:18 PM  | Hide replies

Cricket had killed most of the other team games in the country. At one time, we were 4th in Rome Olympics football and long reigning kings of hockey. Cricket killed it all. Look at our pathetic position in Hockey now. Atleast in few isolated zones like Kerala, Goa & Bengal, football was still holding ground. Now with IPL, new genrations of Kerala too will fall victim to cricket mania. Now football is getting second level interest in Bengal. Only Goa remains now for football. May atleast my generations to come see India make a name in world football. atleast Asian football.

yes what you are tellin is correct.it is the problem of aiff,if they have some idea they can make football more popular than cricket.now football have last chance,if they perform well in asia cup 2011,we will regain the popularity otherwise kerala will also removed from indian football.you know 1984 india played against argentina and lost by only 1 goal.now what is the condition???
