Kallis is smart. He plays slowly or fast depening on timing. So he is very important for RCB. Malya has made right choice of making Kallis the opener.

Although he is the very best, there is room for improvement in his turnout on the pitch, and S. can take a leaf out of Rahul's book. Sachin looked unshaved, scruffy, and stale yesterday, as compared to Rahul and Jacques!
Mrs. Ambani and other owners could/should insist on smart personal turnout of their teams, considering their smart outfits, and billion viewers. If you look good, chances are you will play good or better!
I am sure other fans like me will agree.

it's not looks....performence that matters....sachin should surely look at dravid on how to adapt to play 20-20 format ...apart frm 1 or 2 inningses he is yet to accomplish himself in this format...look at dravid how quickly adapted him self to this format...good thing abt dravid is he takes challenges and plays at differnt batting positions according to team needs and succeeds in it...sachin unfortunately one dimensional in this regard....cnt play down the order and suceeds in it...thinks of his own batting rather than team needs....dravid is ahead of sachin in 20-20 format game

I agree with you Sunil. Sachin has expressed that he wants to open the Innings in ODI's. It is bit easier to play shots and get runs in the 1st 15 overs. Dravid on the other hand has proved that he can bat in any order and score runs. It is very sad that Vengsarkar termed Dravid as one dimensional. He is the real team man. The only issue with him is he is bit defensive and is not aggressive. If he had been bit attacking he would have emerged best of all captains. This man should get more recognition. Still he is my best lot.

IPL a dating place
by statesman on Mar 21, 2010 09:18 AM  | Hide replies

IPL is only beneficial for Bollywood publicity mongers and idiots who also indulge in flirting with the powerful and super-rich corporate barons - Deepika Paducone flirting with Mallaya & Co., Katrina Kaif flirting with Porki-at-Heart SRK much to Salman's fury, and Preety Zinta and Shilpa Setty jumping like fools during matches.

Kallis a tortoise in ODIs
by statesman on Mar 21, 2010 09:14 AM

Kallis plays like a tortoise in ODIs, having made his team lose many matches due to his irritatingly slow and selfish batting. He can blast 6s, 4s and 50s in the IPL but he will be put in his place in the 20/20 World Cup for sure.

The IPL is no fun without the Pakistani players. All the players should make an effort to have their Pakistani friends participate in the next IPL. Politics should be kept out of sport.

better still why don't people like prem mohan instead go to pakistan? they can always depend on lalit modi to set up PPL (porki premier league) to get this going and people like prem mohan can then enjoy the corrupt and bribery style fixed matches right there in the comfort of pakki stadiums...how about that mr.prem mohan? do you have the guts to go to pakiland and die? you are talking like this due to living in a great country like INDIA...JAI HO & JAI HIND..!!

It's good to have strategies but not at the expense of national intertest. Kumble is exposing indian weakness against the short stuff. His key inputs to foreign players could cost india the T20 world cup. The Kumble the genius in plotting Indian downfall. Well done.
