Don't take IPL seriously. It is just a summer entertainment. It is just Indian Pastime League. It is like the EPL or the Italian league where the top English and Spanish players score spectacular goals but when it comes to the WC or any other FIFA tournaments, they will come a cropper.
There is an ocean of difference as far as the quality of cricket is concerned when we compare it to international matches. The likes of Vinay Kumars, Kumbles, Pravin Kumars, Pandeys, Pujaras, and company will come a cropper come the World Cup or any other international tournaments. One can add even the Pathans to this list. Selection to the Indian team should be done without taking into account the IPL "records." After a couple of years, leading international stars (of course the top Indian players either don't have the guts to pull out or won't do so for money sake) will refuse to play for fear of injuries and subsequent long layoffs that would even cut short or end their international career.

Mumbai Indians was a lousy team in the first two IPLs. It will continue to be a lousy team even in the third IPL. The problems lie with the captain and his selfish attitude. He is wasting the money paid to him by the Ambanis...
