It appears Mongoose was hit back in 60s and it failed actually. It was Sussex who used this bat in English county, and Tiger Patudi played for Sussex at that time.

You hit the nail on the head... There are very few batsmen around the world who are good in pulling or hooking. Some names I can think are Sachin, Dravid, Dhoni, Laxman, Ponting, Hayden to name a few. Out of which Sachin and Ponting are the best pullers in the last two decades of the game.

i dont think Dravid, Laxman and sachin are good pullers. Good pullers are Gilly, hayden, Ponting, Grame smith etc

I cant understand whats the problem with Dhoni.. what makes him the centre of abuse... He is as good as sourav but less aggressive.. His keeping skills and captancy is also good and team india is performing much better.. they have a good record of performance in the past few months... those who arent successful in life abuse others...

I dont see any flaw in dhonis leadership,his batting and his keeping wickets.Everybody in India expects him to do captaincy,good keeping and ofcourse dashing batting.90% he fulfills.Only in a very few occasions,he didnt fire in batting..very very few occasions,he misses the ball to pass through him,,ver very very few occasions he too bad decisions..what else yuou expect an Indian captain to do??Lets all celebrate dhoni now..(while celebrating sachin)

Sehwag with no technique has a great record in Tests. Dhoni have a unique style of batting. He is more consistent than any other Indian in the shorter variants of the game. The 50 over performances of Dhoni negates the claim that he is a fluke batsman.
The match was won under raina.But all the boys have been tremendously motivated and boosted by the master dhoni.Since raina is a good learner and having good undrstanding with dhoni,he got best out of dhoni and produced result.Anyway csk will win!!

CSK without politician dhobi will do much better. Today dhobi not there & CSK win. Last SLK ODI series, dhobi not there & India won both matches. If Hyden fire CSK wins, If sacin-sehwag fire India wins irrespective of who the tom dick & harry is the captain. This dhobi/dada captaincy hype is just created by media & some brainless fans. Even on captaincy front, kumble/warne much better than politician dhobi & dada. Fact remains captain doen't have more than 5% role in cricket win. If u have few good match winnere who click, u will win otherwise loos irrespective of captain. Last ODI against SA, Sachin-sehwag rested & Indian team failed miserably under dhobi.

haha chenai wins because politicain dhobi not playing. Same happen last series against SLK- he didn;t play 2 match & india won both of them easily. His captaincy hype just created by media

Right. Player like hyden,Sehwag, sachin, pathan, Gilcrist, symonds,wVass, kumble win matches irrespective who tom dick & harry is the captain. Dhobi/dada captaincy hype just created by media. CSK can do better if dhobi not there as he hardly play match winning innings(may be 1 in 20 innings)

CSK is definetely better without polician dhobi. Parthiv patel is better wicket keeper & batsman than dhobi. One good thing when dhobi not there, no politics in team.
