After going through this article I am not able to understand how the WI index was arrived at. The article says that WI index was calculated based on ODI encounters between every pair of teams. But the figures given in the table totally differ from each other. For example in the first row Australia has gained 2.5/6 points under home category against India and 4/6 in away category and 2/3 in neutral venue. When it comes to India it is 2/6; 3.5/6 and 1/3. Similarly the points for Australia against England goes as 3/6, 6/7 and 3/3 while it is 1/7, 3/6 and 0/3 for England against Australia. How is this possible. One thing is clear there are still people out there to boost Australia as the best ever cricket team in the world despite the nasty and provocative mind games techniques adopted by that team against their opponents.

I know that we are the permanent #1 side in all forms of cricket since 1932, so don't worry.... We'll just ignore what we don't understand.... including the rankings from ICC itself.... ;-)

2.5 out of 6 for Aus at home against Ind, maps to 3.5 out of 6 for Ind away. So where's the confusion?
If it is r/n for a team at home, it is (n-r)/n for the opposing team away.
