Bats should be standardized for all formats of the game. The idea is to promote test and one day cricket by way of T20 to those who hv least interest in the game. Ultimately those who watch T20 will finally realize after a serious watching of the game that Test cricket and ODI's are the better format of the game.

Aziz and Debnath guide Assam to quarters
March 12, 2010 Half-centuries by Pritam Debnath and Parvez Aziz helped Assam coast to a seven-wicket win over Railways in Indore. Chasing 156, Debnath and Aziz added 135 for the opening wicket to set up the win. Aziz top scored with 75, off 51 balls, with six boundaries and five sixes while Debnath scored 55 off 48 balls before he fell in the 16th over. Earlier, the Assam seam-bowling trio made early inroads, reducing Railways to 62 for 5. Assam will play Delhi in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
these bats have no answer to yorkers and batsman may get backpain and need to bend too much.. you can't expect ball on the air all time. that is the disadvantages

These bats are of same length as any other bat. Only the handle is long, taking some place of the wooden chunk to increase the sweet spot. The bat may looker in the Giant's hands but it is of same length of a standard bat. so yokers can dealt with same effect.
Can one defend against Wasim's or Waqar's perfect yorkers with this kind of bat? For a change Ajit Agarkar also sometimes releases perfect yorkers may be accidently. I don't think so that this kind of bat would really help facing those yorkers.

if you can easily fend of perfect yorkers then they are not that perfect are they? Anyways the bat length is not shortened as its compensated with a long handle. I think this bat is fine as most T20 batters are looking to hit most of the time. I do not see a test batter playing with this bat...

Well... yorkers could be played but what about the deliveries rising from good length as the handle is too long and the bat is too short...

Because while defending against yorkers usually the weight of the body goes on to the upper part of the bat for a moment and with this kind of bat that has long handle and short width, there is high chance that batsman would fall on his knees and middle stump would fly over keeper's head.

With the long handle, it seems they are already envisioning batsmen in Twenty20 standing with a wide stance to swing at every ball. Another improvisation against poor bowlers who are anyway being cornered by continuous bending of rules towards the batsmen.
On a lighter note, looks like Hayden can hold one of those "toys" in either hand and swing on both sides of the pitch.

Yes absolutely, the bat looks like a cross between a Cricket bat and a Baseball bat. And the way it is designed looks like hard to get an outside edge.
