IPL is doing nothing but over exposing the cricket. Over exposure is bad for anything. Take an example of Amitabh Bachan, great actor but to many films, result;flop films. India's rank is very low in T 20 Cricket.
In test matches what can happen after the Sachin, laxman & Dravid retire we all got a glimpse of it in the recent series against South Africa.
IPL happens in India and if players will continue to play like this they will be promt to injury.
IPL should be organized after the T20 WC during summer vacation. I think the viewership will increase only and players will be fresh for the WC because its nation first.
I dont have any more interest in this IPL matches. The Indian Players are prefering to play IPL rather then playing for the nation.
All the important players of India are the part of IPL and will play minimum 14 matches.
Same dismal show is going to happen in this T-20 World Cup as well and I will not be surprised if 1 or more key players of India will not be a part of T-20 World Cup because of the injury.

To thoughts..
Players preference is fine but I do agree with the statement that "I will not be surprised if 1 or more key players of India will not be a part of T-20 World Cup because of the injury."
In the previous WC Sehwag missed out. Yuvraj, Sehawg, Gambir, Zahir Khan.. are already injured. How much energy they will have after playing 14 matches or whether they will be fit or not.
There is nothing wrong in the entertainment part but it would be more enjoyable if India showcase good performance in WC.
Who cares about these cricket players in IPL? Bring on Shilpa auntie, Zinta mam, Shahrukh and their bollywood entourage. Their senseless self promotion would be the real star in this IPL.
While it is difficult to predict who is going to win IPL 3, the team that will finish last is going to be Mumbai Indians- there is absolutely no doubt-right guys.

It will be a foolish statement to predict nyThing in this form of the game..in first edition of IPL "the last two" teams were Hyderabad Deccan charger n Bangalore Royal challenger,..n Only these were the two teams who was the Finalists
