Remember this Mr. Younis- Dont shoot your mouth
by Venkatesh Umapathy on Mar 11, 2010 02:05 PM

Leading his team in a full-fledged series against India [ Images ] and defeating the arch rivals in that is one of Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan's [ Images ] biggest aspirations.

"I would love to lead the team in a full series against India as beating them would be a big achievement for me and a big plus in my career," Khan said.

Talking to media persons at the sidelines of a training camp in Karachi, Khan said he is targeting to win at least one of the next two ICC [ Images ] one-day tournaments.

"Every captain has certain targets in mind, mine is that we must win either of these two major ICC events until I am captain," The Daily Times quoted Khan, as saying.

He also expressed hope of wining a Test series in Australia [ Images ], which Pakistan has failed to do so far.

Khan said his team has the ability to create upsets, but players needed to click at crucial junctures and perform to their potential.

"We have the players to win the Champions Trophy [ Images ] or World Cup and even beat Australia in Australia but we need to combine and click together," he said.

Pakistan, which shares the group with India and Australia in the Champions Trophy, would kick start its campaign in the eight nation tournament against West Indies [ Images ] on September 23 in Johannesburg.

banning is right as it would bring discipline in team but it is always with pak team from thier existence as a cricket team. KKR team had appointed wasim akram as a bowling coach and SRK fulfill his commitment to the nation what can we say to this deed of SRK but wasim is a good bowler and helped many of our player in techniques

Ban Mitchel Johnson
by B M on Mar 11, 2010 01:59 PM  | Hide replies

Mitchel Johnson should have been banned for at least 1 match for the head butting incident. ICC applies different discipline criteria for Asians and goras. If Gambhir was banned for elbowing Shane Watson, how come Johnson escaped a ban for head butting another player? Also, Ranjan Madugalle is a boot-licker of the goras. He should be sacked from the position of ICC match referee.

All banned PAK players can approach SRK now as the only Masiha of Kolkatta Night Riders.
It is a grand apportunity to SRK to demonstrate his affection and respect for the PAK players.
If not SRK , Abu Azmi , Mulla Mulayam or Lallu can do this heroic act.

Delayed Punishment
by Sowri Rajan on Mar 11, 2010 01:40 PM

If you look at the way the Pakistan team has been performing on and off the field over a year or two, it is obvious that each member of the team is behaving in an arbitrary manner paying no respect to the captain, making media statements against one another, mixing politics in the formation of the team, changing captains like you change your underwear and many more indiscipline activities. For some reason, the Board has delayed strict actions against these players and it only allowed to grow beyond control. Imposing life bans and fines are all fine if it works for the betterment of the team. If it is going to further ruin the team, God can only save the team and the country.
